The Parable of the Sower
1. And he began again to teach by the sea side: and there was gathered unto him a great multitude, so that he entered into a ship, and sat in the sea; and the whole multitude was by the sea on the land.
1. Jésus se mit de nouveau à enseigner au bord de la mer. Une grande foule s`étant assemblée auprès de lui, il monta et s`assit dans une barque, sur la mer. Toute la foule était à terre sur le rivage.
1. "ARY nanomboka nampianatra teo amoron' ny ranomasina indray Jesosy; ary nisy vahoaka betsaka nanatona Azy, dia niditra teo an-tsambokely Izy ka nipetraka teo amin’ny ranomasina; ary ny vahoaka rehetra dia teny an-tanety amoron-dranomasina."
2. And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in his doctrine,
2. Il leur enseigna beaucoup de choses en paraboles, et il leur dit dans son enseignement:
2. Ary nampianatra azy zavatra maro tamin’ny fanoharana Izy ka nilaza tamin' ireo tamin' ny foto-pampianarany hoe:
3. Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:
3. Écoutez. Un semeur sortit pour semer.
3. Mihainoa: Indro, nivoaka ny mpamafy mba hamafy.
4. And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.
4. Comme il semait, une partie de la semence tomba le long du chemin: les oiseaux vinrent, et la mangèrent.
4. Ary izao no niseho raha namafy izy, ny sasany dia latsaka teny amoron-dalana, dia avy ny vorona eny amin’ny habakabaka ka nandany izany.
5. And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth:
5. "Une autre partie tomba dans un endroit pierreux, où elle n`avait pas beaucoup de terre; elle leva aussitôt, parce qu`elle ne trouva pas un sol profond;"
5. Ary ny sasany dia latsaka teny amin’ny tany marivo ambony vatolampy: dia nalaky nitrebona ireny, satria tsy nisy tany lalina.
6. But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.
6. mais, quand le soleil parut, elle fut brûlée et sécha, faute de racines.
6. "Fa rehefa niposaka ny masoandro, dia nalazo ireny; ary satria tsy nanam-paka, dia maina izy."
7. And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.
7. Une autre partie tomba parmi les épines: les épines montèrent, et l`étouffèrent, et elle ne donna point de fruit.
7. "Ary ny sasany dia latsaka teny amin’ny tsilo; ary ny tsilo naniry ka nangeja azy, dia tsy namoa izy."
8. And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.
8. Une autre partie tomba dans la bonne terre: elle donna du fruit qui montait et croissait, et elle rapporta trente, soixante, et cent pour un.
8. Ary ny sasany dia latsaka teny amin’ny tany tsara, ary naniry dia namoa, ka nitrebona sy nitombo: ny sasany telopolo, ary ny sasany enimpolo, ary ny sasany zato.
9. And he said unto them, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
9. Puis il dit: Que celui qui a des oreilles pour entendre entende.
9. Ary hoy Izy: Izay manan-tsofina hoenti-mihaino, aoka izy hihaino.
10. And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable.
10. Lorsqu`il fut en particulier, ceux qui l`entouraient avec les douze l`interrogèrent sur les paraboles.
10. Ary raha nitoetra irery Izy, dia nanontany Azy ny amin’ny fanoharana ireo nomba Azy mbamin’ny roa ambin’ny folo lahy.
11. And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:
11. "Il leur dit: C`est à vous qu`a été donné le mystère du royaume de Dieu; mais pour ceux qui sont dehors tout se passe en paraboles,"
11. "Ary hoy Izy tamin' izy ireo: Ianareo no efa nomena hahalala ny zava-miafina ny amin’ny fanjakan’Andriamanitra; fa ny amin’ireny izay any ivelany kosa, ny zavatra rehetra dia atao amin’ny fanoharana;"
12. That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.
12. afin qu`en voyant ils voient et n`aperçoivent point, et qu`en entendant ils entendent et ne comprennent point, de peur qu`ils ne se convertissent, et que les péchés ne leur soient pardonnés.
12. "“Mba hijery mandrakariva ihany izy, fa tsy hahita; ary mba handre mandrakariva ihany izy, fa tsy hahafantatra; fandrao hiova fo izy, ka havela ny helony”"
13. And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?
13. Il leur dit encore: Vous ne comprenez pas cette parabole? Comment donc comprendrez-vous toutes les paraboles?
13. Ary hoy Izy taminy: Tsy azonareo va ilay fanoharana teo? koa hataonareo ahoana no fahafantatra ny fanoharana rehetra?
14. The sower soweth the word.
14. Le semeur sème la parole.
14. Ny mpamafy dia mamafy ny teny.
15. And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.
15. "Les uns sont le long du chemin, où la parole est semée; quand ils l`ont entendue, aussitôt Satan vient et enlève la parole qui a été semée en eux."
15. Ary ireto no ilay teo amoron-dalana, dia izay amafazana ny teny, fa rehefa nandre izy, dia avy miaraka amin’izay Satana ka manaisotra ny teny izay nafafy tao am-pony.
16. And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;
16. "Les autres, pareillement, reçoivent la semence dans les endroits pierreux; quand ils entendent la parole, ils la reçoivent d`abord avec joie;"
16. "Ary tahaka izany koa, ireto no ilay voafafy teny amin’ny tany marivo ambony vatolampy, dia izay mandre ny teny ka malaky mandray izany amin’ny hafaliana;"
17. And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.
17. mais ils n`ont pas de racine en eux-mêmes, ils manquent de persistance, et, dès que survient une tribulation ou une persécution à cause de la parole, ils y trouvent une occasion de chute.
17. "Nefa tsy manam-paka ao anatiny ireny, fa vetivety foana ny faharetany; koa rehefa afaka izany, ka tonga izay fahoriana na fanenjehana noho ny teny, dia tafintohina miaraka amin’izay izy."
18. And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,
18. "D`autres reçoivent la semence parmi les épines; ce sont ceux qui entendent la parole,"
18. Ary misy hafa koa izay voafafy teny amin’ny tsilo, dia ireo no ilay nandre ny teny,
19. And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
19. mais en qui les soucis du siècle, la séduction des richesses et l`invasion des autres convoitises, étouffent la parole, et la rendent infructueuse.
19. Fa ny fiahiana izao fiainana izao sy ny fitaky ny harena ary ny filàna ny zavatra hafa miditra, dia mangeja ny teny, ka dia tsy mamoa izy.
20. And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.
20. "D`autres reçoivent la semence dans la bonne terre; ce sont ceux qui entendent la parole, la reçoivent, et portent du fruit, trente, soixante, et cent pour un."
20. Ary ireto no ilay voafafy teny amin’ny tany tsara, dia izay mandre ny teny ka mandray azy, dia mamoa: ny sasany avo telopolo heny, ny sasany enimpolo, ary ny sasany zato.
A Lamp on a Stand
21. And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick?
21. Il leur dit encore: Apporte-t-on la lampe pour la mettre sous le boisseau, ou sous le lit? N`est-ce pas pour la mettre sur le chandelier?
21. Ary hoy Izy taminy: Moa entina va ny jiro mba hosaronan’ny vata famarana, na hatao ao ambany farafara? Tsy hatao eo amin’ny fanaovanjiro va izy?
22. For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.
22. Car il n`est rien de caché qui ne doive être découvert, rien de secret qui ne doive être mis au jour.
22. Fa tsy misy takona izay tsy ho hita, na miafina izay tsy haseho.
23. If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
23. Si quelqu`un a des oreilles pour entendre, qu`il entende.
23. Raha misy olona manan-tsofina hoenti-mihaino, aoka izy hihaino.
24. And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.
24. Il leur dit encore: Prenez garde à ce que vous entendez. On vous mesurera avec la mesure dont vous vous serez servis, et on y ajoutera pour vous.
24. "Ary hoy Izy taminy: Tandremo izay teny renareo; araka ny refy andrefesanareo no handrefesana ho anareo, ary homena mihoatra ianareo izay mandre."
25. For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.
25. "Car on donnera à celui qui a; mais à celui qui n`a pas on ôtera même ce qu`il a."
25. "Fa izay manana no homena; ary ny amin’izay tsy manana, na dia izay ananany aza dia halaina aminy."
The Parable of the Growing Seed
26. And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;
26. "Il dit encore: Il en est du royaume de Dieu comme quand un homme jette de la semence en terre;"
26. Ary hoy Izy: Toy izao ny fanjakan’Andriamanitra: tahaka ny lehilahy mamafy voa amin’ny tany,
27. And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how.
27. qu`il dorme ou qu`il veille, nuit et jour, la semence germe et croît sans qu`il sache comment.
27. "Ka matory sy mahatsiaro isan’alina sy isan’andro; ary ny voa dia mitsimoka sy maniry, nefa tsy fantany ny faniriny."
28. For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.
28. "La terre produit d`elle-même, d`abord l`herbe, puis l`épi, puis le grain tout formé dans l`épi;"
28. Fa ny tany mahavokatra ho azy: voalohany misy tahony, dia salohy, ary rehefa izany, dia ny voa matoy eo amin' ny salohy.
29. But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.
29. et, dès que le fruit est mûr, on y met la faucille, car la moisson est là.
29. Fa rehefa vokatra izy, dia jinjaina miaraka amin’izay, fa efa tonga ny fararano.
The Parable of the Mustard Seed
30. And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it?
30. Il dit encore: A quoi comparerons-nous le royaume de Dieu, ou par quelle parabole le représenterons-nous?
30. Ary hoy Izy: Ahoana no hanoharantsika ny fanjakan’Andriamanitra, ary inona no fanoharana hanoharantsika azy?
31. It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth:
31. "Il est semblable à un grain de sénevé, qui, lorsqu`on le sème en terre, est la plus petite de toutes les semences qui sont sur la terre;"
31. "Tahaka ny voan-tsinapy izy, izay kely noho ny voa rehetra, raha afafy amin’ny tany;"
32. But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.
32. mais, lorsqu`il a été semé, il monte, devient plus grand que tous les légumes, et pousse de grandes branches, en sorte que les oiseaux du ciel peuvent habiter sous son ombre.
32. Fa rehefa voafafy kosa izy, dia maniry ka tonga lehibe noho ny anana rehetra, ary mandrantsana vaventy, ka azon’ny voro-manidina eny amin' ny habakabaka itoerana ny alokalony.
33. And with many such parables spake he the word unto them, as they were able to hear it.
33. C`est par beaucoup de paraboles de ce genre qu`il leur annonçait la parole, selon qu`ils étaient capables de l`entendre.
33. Ary fanoharana maro toy izany no nanambarany ny teny taminy, araka izay hainy nohenoina.
34. But without a parable spake he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples.
34. "Il ne leur parlait point sans parabole; mais, en particulier, il expliquait tout à ses disciples."
34. "Ary raha tsy tamin’ny fanoharana, dia tsy niteny taminy Izy; ary rehefa nitokana izy ireo, dia nohazavainy tamin' ny mpianany ny zavatra rehetra."
Jesus Calms the Storm
35. And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.
35. Ce même jour, sur le soir, Jésus leur dit: Passons à l`autre bord.
35. Ary androtrizay ihany, rehefa hariva ny andro, dia hoy Izy tamin' izy ireo: Andeha isika hita ho eny am-pita.
36. And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.
36. "Après avoir renvoyé la foule, ils l`emmenèrent dans la barque où il se trouvait; il y avait aussi d`autres barques avec lui."
36. Ary rehefa nampodin’ny mpianany ny vahoaka, dia nentiny tamin’io sambokely io ihany Jesosy. Ary nisy sambokely hafa koa niaraka taminy.
37. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.
37. Il s`éleva un grand tourbillon, et les flots se jetaient dans la barque, au point qu`elle se remplissait déjà.
37. Ary nisy tafio-drivotra mahery, ary nianjerazeran’ny alondrano ny sambokely ka nila ho feno rano.
38. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
38. Et lui, il dormait à la poupe sur le coussin. Ils le réveillèrent, et lui dirent: Maître, ne t`inquiètes-tu pas de ce que nous périssons?
38. "Ary natory teo am-bodin’ny sambokely tambonin’ny ondana Izy; ary namoha Azy ireo ka nanao taminy hoe: Mpampianatra ô, tsy mampaninona Anao va izao hahafatesanay izao?"
39. And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
39. S`étant réveillé, il menaça le vent, et dit à la mer: Silence! tais-toi! Et le vent cessa, et il y eut un grand calme.
39. Ary nifoha Izy, dia niteny mafy ny rivotra sady nilaza tamin’ny ranomasina hoe: Mangìna, mitsahara. Ary dia nitsahatra ny rivotra, ka tony tsara ny andro.
40. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?
40. Puis il leur dit: Pourquoi avez-vous ainsi peur? Comment n`avez-vous point de foi?
40. Ary hoy Izy tamin' izy ireo: Nahoana no saro-tahotra ianareo? Nahoana no tsy manam-pinoana ianareo?
41. And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?
41. Ils furent saisis d`une grande frayeur, et ils se dirent les uns aux autres: Quel est donc celui-ci, à qui obéissent même le vent et la mer?
41. Ary natahotra indrindra izy ireo ka niresaka hoe: Iza moa Ity lehilahy ity, fa ny rivotra sy ny ranomasina aza manaiky Azy?
