The Cupbearer and the Baker
1. And it came to pass after these things, that the butler of the king of Egypt and his baker had offended their lord the king of Egypt.
1. Après ces choses, il arriva que l`échanson et le panetier du roi d`Égypte, offensèrent leur maître, le roi d`Égypte.
1. Ary izao no niseho taorian' izany zavatra izany, ny mpitondra kapoakan' ny mpanjaka sy ny mpanao mofony dia efa nanao fahadisoana tamin' ny mpanjakan' i Egypta tompony.
2. And Pharaoh was wroth against two of his officers, against the chief of the butlers, and against the chief of the bakers.
2. Pharaon fut irrité contre ses deux officiers, le chef des échansons et le chef des panetiers.
2. Ary tezitra indrindra tamin' ireo tandapany roalahy ireo Farao, dia tamin' ny lehiben' ny mpitondra kapoaka sy ny lehiben' ny mpanao mofo.
3. And he put them in ward in the house of the captain of the guard, into the prison, the place where Joseph was bound.
3. Et il les fit mettre dans la maison du chef des gardes, dans la prison, dans le lieu où Joseph était enfermé.
3. Dia nataony tao an-tranomaizina izy ireo, tao an-tranon' ny mpifehy ny mpiambina, tao anatin' ny tranomaizina izay toerana nifatoran' i Josefa.
4. And the captain of the guard charged Joseph with them, and he served them: and they continued a season in ward.
4. "Le chef des gardes les plaça sous la surveillance de Joseph, qui faisait le service auprès d`eux; et ils passèrent un certain temps en prison."
4. "Ary Josefa notendren' ny mpifehy ny mpiambina ho eo amin' izy roalahy, dia nanompo ireo izy; ary nitoetra andro maromaro tao an-tranomaizina ireo."
5. And they dreamed a dream both of them, each man his dream in one night, each man according to the interpretation of his dream, the butler and the baker of the king of Egypt, which were bound in the prison.
5. Pendant une même nuit, l`échanson et le panetier du roi d`Égypte, qui étaient enfermés dans la prison, eurent tous les deux un songe, chacun le sien, pouvant recevoir une explication distincte.
5. Ary nanonofy izy roalahy indray alina, dia ilay mpitondra kapoaka sy ilay mpanao mofon' ny mpanjakan' i Egypta, izay nifatotra tao an-tranomaizina, ka samy nanana ny nofiny araka ny hevitry ny nofiny avy.
6. And Joseph came in unto them in the morning, and looked upon them, and, behold, they were sad.
6. "Joseph, étant venu le matin vers eux, les regarda; et voici, ils étaient tristes."
6. Ary Josefa nankao aminy nony maraina ny andro ka nijery azy, fa, indreo, nalahelo tarehy izy.
7. And he asked Pharaoh's officers that were with him in the ward of his lord's house, saying, Wherefore look ye so sadly to day?
7. Alors il questionna les officiers de Pharaon, qui étaient avec lui dans la prison de son maître, et il leur dit: Pourquoi avez-vous mauvais visage aujourd`hui?
7. Dia nanontanian' i Josefa ny tandapan' i Farao izay niara-nifatotra taminy tao an-tranon' ny tompony ka nilazany hoe: Nahoana no tena malahelo tarehy ianareo androany?
8. And they said unto him, We have dreamed a dream, and there is no interpreter of it. And Joseph said unto them, Do not interpretations belong to God? tell me them, I pray you.
8. Ils lui répondirent: Nous avons eu un songe, et il n`y a personne pour l`expliquer. Joseph leur dit: N`est-ce pas à Dieu qu`appartiennent les explications? Racontez-moi donc votre songe.
8. Ary hoy izy roa lahy taminy: Nanonofy izahay, ka tsy misy mahazava ny heviny. Dia hoy Josefa tamin' ireo: Tsy an' Andriamanitra va ny fanazavan-kevitra? Masìna ianareo, lazao amiko izany.
9. And the chief butler told his dream to Joseph, and said to him, In my dream, behold, a vine was before me;
9. Le chef des échansons raconta son songe à Joseph, et lui dit: Dans mon songe, voici, il y avait un cep devant moi.
9. "Dia nambaran' ny lehiben' ny mpitondra kapoaka tamin' i Josefa ny nofiny, ka hoy izy taminy: Nofiko fa indro nisy tahom-boaloboka teo anatrehako ;"
10. And in the vine were three branches: and it was as though it budded, and her blossoms shot forth; and the clusters thereof brought forth ripe grapes:
10. Ce cep avait trois sarments. Quand il eut poussé, sa fleur se développa et ses grappes donnèrent des raisins mûrs.
10. Ary teo amin' ny tahom-boaloboka nisy sampany telo: Dia toa nitsimoka izany, ary niposaka ny voniny, ka ny sampahony namokatra voaloboka masaka.
11. And Pharaoh's cup was in my hand: and I took the grapes, and pressed them into Pharaoh's cup, and I gave the cup into Pharaoh's hand.
11. La coupe de Pharaon était dans ma main. Je pris les raisins, je les pressai dans la coupe de Pharaon, et je mis la coupe dans la main de Pharaon.
11. "Ary teny an-tanako ny kapoakan' i Farao; dia nalaiko ny voaloboka ka nofiazako ho ao amin' ny kapoakan' i Farao, dia natolotro teo an-tanan' i Farao ny kapoaka."
12. And Joseph said unto him, This is the interpretation of it: The three branches are three days:
12. Joseph lui dit: En voici l`explication. Les trois sarments sont trois jours.
12. Ary hoy Josefa taminy: Izao no heviny: Ny sampany telo dia hateloana.
13. Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thine head, and restore thee unto thy place: and thou shalt deliver Pharaoh's cup into his hand, after the former manner when thou wast his butler.
13. "Encore trois jours, et Pharaon relèvera ta tête et te rétablira dans ta charge; tu mettras la coupe dans la main de Pharaon, comme tu en avais l`habitude lorsque tu étais son échanson."
13. "Ato anatin' ny hateloana dia hasandratr' i Farao ny lohanao, ka hampodiany ho amin' ny toeranao ianao; dia hanolotra ny kapoakan' i Farao ho eo an-tanany ianao, araka ny fanao teo aloha fony ianao mpitondra kapoakany."
14. But think on me when it shall be well with thee, and shew kindness, I pray thee, unto me, and make mention of me unto Pharaoh, and bring me out of this house:
14. "Mais souviens-toi de moi, quand tu seras heureux, et montre, je te prie, de la bonté à mon égard; parle en ma faveur à Pharaon, et fais-moi sortir de cette maison."
14. "Fa mba tsarovy aho, rehefa mahita soa ianao, ka trarantitra ianao, iantrao aho, dia ambarao amin' i Farao ny amiko, ka avoahy amin' ity trano ity aho;"
15. For indeed I was stolen away out of the land of the Hebrews: and here also have I done nothing that they should put me into the dungeon.
15. Car j`ai été enlevé du pays des Hébreux, et ici même je n`ai rien fait pour être mis en prison.
15. Fa nangalarina mihitsy avy tany amin' ny tanin' ny Hebreo aho, ary eto koa, tsy nanao izay tokony ho nametrahany ahy eto amin' ity lavaka ity aho.
16. When the chief baker saw that the interpretation was good, he said unto Joseph, I also was in my dream, and, behold, I had three white baskets on my head:
16. Le chef des panetiers, voyant que Joseph avait donné une explication favorable, dit: Voici, il y avait aussi, dans mon songe, trois corbeilles de pain blanc sur ma tête.
16. "Rehefa hitan' ny lehiben' ny mpanao mofo fa tsara ny hevitry ny nofy, dia hoy izy tamin' i Josefa: Izaho koa nanonofy, ka, indro, niloloha karaba fotsy telo aho;"
17. And in the uppermost basket there was of all manner of bakemeats for Pharaoh; and the birds did eat them out of the basket upon my head.
17. "Dans la corbeille la plus élevée il y avait pour Pharaon des mets de toute espèce, cuits au four; et les oiseaux les mangeaient dans la corbeille au-dessus de ma tête."
17. "Ary teo anatin' ny karaba ambony indrindra dia nisy avy tamin' ny karazam-pihinana rehetra ho an' i Farao; ary nohanin' ny vorona teo anatin' ny karaba izay nololohaviko izany."
18. And Joseph answered and said, This is the interpretation thereof: The three baskets are three days:
18. Joseph répondit, et dit: En voici l`explication. Les trois corbeilles sont trois jours.
18. Dia namaly Josefa ka nanao hoe: Izao kosa no heviny: Ny karaba telo dia hateloana.
19. Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thy head from off thee, and shall hang thee on a tree; and the birds shall eat thy flesh from off thee.
19. Encore trois jours, et Pharaon enlèvera ta tête de dessus toi, te fera pendre à un bois, et les oiseaux mangeront ta chair.
19. "Ato anatin' ny hateloana dia hasandratr' i Farao ho afaka aminao ny lohanao, ka hahantony amin' ny hazo ianao; dia hohanin' ny vorona ho afaka aminao ny nofonao."
20. And it came to pass the third day, which was Pharaoh's birthday, that he made a feast unto all his servants: and he lifted up the head of the chief butler and of the chief baker among his servants.
20. "Le troisième jour, jour de la naissance de Pharaon, il fit un festin à tous ses serviteurs; et il éleva la tête du chef des échansons et la tête du chef des panetiers, au milieu de ses serviteurs:"
20. "Ary izao no niseho tamin' ny andro fahatelo, izay fitsingerenan' ny taona nahaterahan' i Farao: Nanao fanasana ho an' ny mpanompony rehetra izy; dia nasandrany ny lohan' ny lehiben' ny mpitondra kapoaka sy ny an' ny lehiben' ny mpanao mofo teo amin' ny mpanompony."
21. And he restored the chief butler unto his butlership again; and he gave the cup into Pharaoh's hand:
21. "il rétablit le chef des échansons dans sa charge d`échanson, pour qu`il mît la coupe dans la main de Pharaon;"
21. "Dia nampodiny tamin'ny fitondràny kapoaka indray ny lehiben' ny mpitondra kapoaka; ka nanolotra ny kapoaka ho eo an-tanan' i Farao izy;"
22. But he hanged the chief baker: as Joseph had interpreted to them.
22. mais il fit pendre le chef des panetiers, selon l`explication que Joseph leur avait donnée.
22. Fa ny lehiben' ny mpanao mofo kosa dia nahantony, araka izay efa nohazavain' i Josefa tamin' izy ireo.
23. Yet did not the chief butler remember Joseph, but forgat him.
23. Le chef des échansons ne pensa plus à Joseph. Il l`oublia.
23. Kanjo tsy nahatsiaro an' i Josefa kosa ilay lehiben' ny mpitondra kapoaka, fa nanadino azy.
