The Death of Sarah
1. And Sarah was an hundred and seven and twenty years old: these were the years of the life of Sarah.

2. And Sarah died in Kirjatharba; the same is Hebron in the land of Canaan: and Abraham came to mourn for Sarah, and to weep for her.
2. "Sara mourut à Kirjath Arba, qui est Hébron, dans le pays de Canaan; et Abraham vint pour mener deuil sur Sara et pour la pleurer."

3. And Abraham stood up from before his dead, and spake unto the sons of Heth, saying,

4. I am a stranger and a sojourner with you: give me a possession of a buryingplace with you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight.
4. "Je suis étranger et habitant parmi vous; donnez-moi la possession d`un sépulcre chez vous, pour enterrer mon mort et l`ôter de devant moi."
4. "Vahiny sy mpivahiny eto aminareo aho; omeo tany fandevenana eto aminareo aho mba handevenako ny fatin' ny vadiko tsy ho eto anatrehako."
5. And the children of Heth answered Abraham, saying unto him,
5. Les fils de Heth répondirent à Abraham, en lui disant:
5. "Dia namaly an' i Abrahama ny zanak' i Heta ka nanao hoe;"
6. Hear us, my lord: thou art a mighty prince among us: in the choice of our sepulchres bury thy dead; none of us shall withhold from thee his sepulchre, but that thou mayest bury thy dead.
6. "Écoute-nous, mon seigneur! Tu es un prince de Dieu au milieu de nous; enterre ton mort dans celui de nos sépulcres que tu choisiras; aucun de nous ne te refusera son sépulcre pour enterrer ton mort."
6. "Mihainoa anay, tompokolahy: Andrian-dehibe eto aminay ianao; koa izay tsara indrindra amin' ny fasanay no andeveno ny fatin' ny vadinao; tsy misy aminay hiaro ny fasany aminao tsy handevenanao ny fatin' ny vadinao."
7. And Abraham stood up, and bowed himself to the people of the land, even to the children of Heth.
7. Abraham se leva, et se prosterna devant le peuple du pays, devant les fils de Heth.
7. Dia nitsangana Abrahama ka niankohoka teo anatrehan' ny tompon-tany, dia tamin' ny zanak' i Heta.
8. And he communed with them, saying, If it be your mind that I should bury my dead out of my sight; hear me, and intreat for me to Ephron the son of Zohar,
8. Et il leur parla ainsi: Si vous permettez que j`enterre mon mort et que je l`ôte de devant mes yeux, écoutez-moi, et priez pour moi Éphron, fils de Tsochar,
8. Dia nifampiresaka tamin' ireo izy ka nanao hoe: Raha sitrakareo àry ny handevenako ny fatin' ny vadiko tsy ho eto anatrehako, dia mihainoa ahy, ka mba iangavio kely amin' i Efrona zanak' i Zohara,
9. That he may give me the cave of Machpelah, which he hath, which is in the end of his field; for as much money as it is worth he shall give it me for a possession of a buryingplace amongst you.
9. de me céder la caverne de Macpéla, qui lui appartient, à l`extrémité de son champ, de me la céder contre sa valeur en argent, afin qu`elle me serve de possession sépulcrale au milieu de vous.

10. And Ephron dwelt among the children of Heth: and Ephron the Hittite answered Abraham in the audience of the children of Heth, even of all that went in at the gate of his city, saying,
10. Éphron était assis parmi les fils de Heth. Et Éphron, le Héthien, répondit à Abraham, en présence des fils de Heth et de tous ceux qui entraient par la porte de sa ville:
10. "Ary nonina teo amin' ny zanak' i Heta i Efrona; dia namaly an' i Abrahama i Efrona Hetita teo anatrehan' ny zanak' i Heta, dia izay rehetra niditra teo am-bavahadin'ny tanànany, ka nanao hoe:"
11. Nay, my lord, hear me: the field give I thee, and the cave that is therein, I give it thee; in the presence of the sons of my people give I it thee: bury thy dead.
11. Non, mon seigneur, écoute-moi! Je te donne le champ, et je te donne la caverne qui y est. Je te les donne, aux yeux des fils de mon peuple: enterre ton mort.
11. "Tsia, tompokolahy, fa mihainoa ahy; ny saha dia omeko anao, ary ny zohy izay eo anatiny dia omeko anao; eo anatrehan' ny zanaky ny fireneko no anomezako azy ho anao; aleveno ny fatin' ny vadinao."
12. And Abraham bowed down himself before the people of the land.
12. Abraham se prosterna devant le peuple du pays.
12. Ary niankohoka teo anatrehan' ny tompon-tany Abrahama.
13. And he spake unto Ephron in the audience of the people of the land, saying, But if thou wilt give it, I pray thee, hear me: I will give thee money for the field; take it of me, and I will bury my dead there.
13. "Et il parla ainsi à Éphron, en présence du peuple du pays: Écoute-moi, je te prie! Je donne le prix du champ: accepte-le de moi; et j`y enterrerai mon mort."
13. "Dia niteny tamin' i Efrona teo anatrehan' ny tompon-tany izy ka nanao hoe: Kanefa raha homenao izany, masìna ianao, mihainoa ahy: Hanome anao vola vidin'ny saha aho; raiso avy amiko izany, dia haleviko ao ny fatin' ny vadiko."
14. And Ephron answered Abraham, saying unto him,
14. Et Éphron répondit à Abraham, en lui disant:
14. Ary Efrona dia namaly an' i Abrahama ka nanao taminy hoe:
15. My lord, hearken unto me: the land is worth four hundred shekels of silver; what is that betwixt me and thee? bury therefore thy dead.
15. Mon seigneur, écoute-moi! Une terre de quatre cents sicles d`argent, qu`est-ce que cela entre moi et toi? Enterre ton mort.
15. "Tompokolahy, mihainoa ahy: Ny tany dia mitentina sekely volafotsy efajato; inona moa izany raha amiko sy aminao? Aleveno ny fatin' ny vadinao."
16. And Abraham hearkened unto Ephron; and Abraham weighed to Ephron the silver, which he had named in the audience of the sons of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, current money with the merchant.
16. "Abraham comprit Éphron; et Abraham pesa à Éphron l`argent qu`il avait dit, en présence des fils de Heth, quatre cents sicles d`argent ayant cours chez le marchand."
16. "Dia nohenoin' i Abrahama i Efrona; ka nolanjain' i Abrahama ho an' i Efrona ny volafotsy, izay efa voalazany teo anatrehan' ny zanak' i Heta, dia sekely volafotsy efajato, vola lanin' ny mpivarotra."
17. And the field of Ephron, which was in Machpelah, which was before Mamre, the field, and the cave which was therein, and all the trees that were in the field, that were in all the borders round about, were made sure
17. Le champ d`Éphron à Macpéla, vis-à-vis de Mamré, le champ et la caverne qui y est, et tous les arbres qui sont dans le champ et dans toutes ses limites alentour,
17. Ary ny sahan' i Efrona, ilay teo Makpela, izay tandrifin' i Mamre, ny saha sy ny zohy izay teo anatiny, mbamin' ny hazo rehetra izay tao anaty saha, izay teo amin' ny sisiny rehetra manodidina, dia natao varo-maty,
18. Unto Abraham for a possession in the presence of the children of Heth, before all that went in at the gate of his city.
18. devinrent ainsi la propriété d`Abraham, aux yeux des fils de Heth et de tous ceux qui entraient par la porte de sa ville.
18. Tamin' i Abrahama ho fananana teo anatrehan' ny zanak' i Heta, teo anatrehan' izay rehetra niditra teo am-bavahadin' ny tanànany.
19. And after this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field of Machpelah before Mamre: the same is Hebron in the land of Canaan.
19. Après cela, Abraham enterra Sara, sa femme, dans la caverne du champ de Macpéla, vis-à-vis de Mamré, qui est Hébron, dans le pays de Canaan.

20. And the field, and the cave that is therein, were made sure unto Abraham for a possession of a buryingplace by the sons of Heth.
20. Le champ et la caverne qui y est demeurèrent à Abraham comme possession sépulcrale, acquise des fils de Heth.
20. Ary ny saha mbamin' ny zohy izay ao anatiny, dia nataon' ny zanak' i Heta varo-maty tamin' i Abrahama ho fananana mba ho toeram-pandevenana.
