The Birth of Isaac
1. And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken.

2. For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.
2. Sara devint enceinte, et elle enfanta un fils à Abraham dans sa vieillesse, au temps fixé dont Dieu lui avait parlé.
2. Fa nanana anaka Saraha ka niteraka zazalahy tamin' i Abrahama, rehefa antitra izy, tamin' ny fotoana izay efa nolazain' Andriamanitra taminy.
3. And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac.
3. Abraham donna le nom d`Isaac au fils qui lui était né, que Sara lui avait enfanté.
3. Ary ny anaran' ny zanany izay teraka, ilay naterak' i Saraha taminy, dia nataon' i Abrahama hoe Isaka.
4. And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him.
4. Abraham circoncit son fils Isaac, âgé de huit jours, comme Dieu le lui avait ordonné.

5. And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him.
5. Abraham était âgé de cent ans, à la naissance d`Isaac, son fils.

6. And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me.
6. "Et Sara dit: Dieu m`a fait un sujet de rire; quiconque l`apprendra rira de moi."

7. And she said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should have given children suck? for I have born him a son in his old age.
7. Elle ajouta: Qui aurait dit à Abraham: Sara allaitera des enfants? Cependant je lui ai enfanté un fils dans sa vieillesse.
7. Ary hoy izy: Iza moa no nanampo hiteny tamin' i Abrahama, fa hampinono zaza Saraha? Fa efa niteraka zazalahy ho azy aho rehefa antitra izy.
Hagar and Ishmael Sent Away
8. And the child grew, and was weaned: and Abraham made a great feast the same day that Isaac was weaned.
8. "L`enfant grandit, et fut sevré; et Abraham fit un grand festin le jour où Isaac fut sevré."
8. "Ary rehefa nihalehibe ny zaza dia notazana; ary nanao fanasana lehibe Abrahama tamin' ny andro nanotazana an' Isaka."
9. And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking.
9. "Sara vit rire le fils qu`Agar, l`Égyptienne, avait enfanté à Abraham;"
9. Ary hitan' i Saraha naneso ny zanak' i Hagara Egyptiana, izay naterany tamin' i Abrahama.
10. Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac.
10. et elle dit à Abraham: Chasse cette servante et son fils, car le fils de cette servante n`héritera pas avec mon fils, avec Isaac.
10. "Noho izany, hoy izy tamin' i Abrahama: Roahy io andevovavy io sy ny zanany; fa ny zanak' io andevovavy io tsy ho mpandova miaraka amin' ny zanako, dia amin' Isaka."
11. And the thing was very grievous in Abraham's sight because of his son.
11. Cette parole déplut fort aux yeux d`Abraham, à cause de son fils.
11. Ary dia tena nampalahelo an' i Abrahama izany noho ny amin' ny zanany.
12. And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad, and because of thy bondwoman; in all that Sarah hath said unto thee, hearken unto her voice; for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.
12. "Mais Dieu dit à Abraham: Que cela ne déplaise pas à tes yeux, à cause de l`enfant et de ta servante. Accorde à Sara tout ce qu`elle te demandera; car c`est d`Isaac que sortira une postérité qui te sera propre."
12. "Ary hoy Andriamanitra tamin' i Abrahama: Aoka tsy hampalahelo eo imasonao ny amin' ny zazalahy sy ny andevovavinao; amin' ny zavatra rehetra izay lazain' i Saraha aminao, dia henoy ny feony; fa amin' Isaka no hantsoina izay taranaka ho anao."
13. And also of the son of the bondwoman will I make a nation, because he is thy seed.
13. "Je ferai aussi une nation du fils de ta servante; car il est ta postérité."
13. Ary ny zanaky ny andevovavy koa dia hataoko ho firenena, satria terakao izy.
14. And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and took bread, and a bottle of water, and gave it unto Hagar, putting it on her shoulder, and the child, and sent her away: and she departed, and wandered in the wilderness of Beersheba.
14. "Abraham se leva de bon matin; il prit du pain et une outre d`eau, qu`il donna à Agar et plaça sur son épaule; il lui remit aussi l`enfant, et la renvoya. Elle s`en alla, et s`égara dans le désert de Beer Schéba."
14. "Dia nifoha maraina koa Abrahama ka naka mofo sy rano tamin' ny siny hoditra iray, ary nomeny an' i Hagara sady napetrany teo an-tsorony izany, ary natolony azy ny zaza, dia nampandehaniny izy;ary lasa izy ka nirenireny tany an' efitr' i Beri-sheba."
15. And the water was spent in the bottle, and she cast the child under one of the shrubs.
15. Quand l`eau de l`outre fut épuisée, elle laissa l`enfant sous un des arbrisseaux,
15. Ary lany ny rano tao amin' ny siny hoditra, dia nariany teo am-pototry ny hazo kely anankiray ny zaza.
16. And she went, and sat her down over against him a good way off, as it were a bow shot: for she said, Let me not see the death of the child. And she sat over against him, and lift up her voice, and wept.
16. "et alla s`asseoir vis-à-vis, à une portée d`arc; car elle disait: Que je ne voie pas mourir mon enfant! Elle s`assit donc vis-à-vis de lui, éleva la voix et pleura."
16. "Dia lasa izy ka nipetraka tery lavidavitra tandrifiny, tokony ho tra-tsipìka; fa hoy izy: Aoka tsy ho hitako ny fahafatesan' ny zaza. Ary nipetraka tandrifiny izy, dia nanandratra ny feony ka nitomany."
17. And God heard the voice of the lad; and the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said unto her, What aileth thee, Hagar? fear not; for God hath heard the voice of the lad where he is.
17. "Dieu entendit la voix de l`enfant; et l`ange de Dieu appela du ciel Agar, et lui dit: Qu`as-tu, Agar? Ne crains point, car Dieu a entendu la voix de l`enfant dans le lieu où il est."
17. Ary ren' Andriamanitra ny feon' ny zaza, dia niantso an' i Hagara Ilay Anjelin' Andriamanitra tany an-danitra ka nanao taminy hoe: Inona izato manjo anao, ry Hagara? Aza matahotra fa efa ren' Andriamanitra ny feon' ny zaza eo amin' ny itoerany.
18. Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for I will make him a great nation.
18. "Lève-toi, prends l`enfant, saisis-le de ta main; car je ferai de lui une grande nation."
18. "Mitsangàna, areno ny zazalahy, ka tantano; fa hataoko firenena lehibe izy."
19. And God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water; and she went, and filled the bottle with water, and gave the lad drink.
19. "Et Dieu lui ouvrit les yeux, et elle vit un puits d`eau; elle alla remplir d`eau l`outre, et donna à boire à l`enfant."
19. Dia nampahiratin' Andriamanitra ny mason' i Hagara, ka nahita lavaka fantsakana izy, ary lasa izy, dia nameno rano ny siny hoditra, ka nampisotro rano ny zazalahy.
20. And God was with the lad; and he grew, and dwelt in the wilderness, and became an archer.
20. Dieu fut avec l`enfant, qui grandit, habita dans le désert, et devint tireur d`arc.
20. "Ary nomban' Andriamanitra ny zaza ka nitombo izy; ary nonina tany an' efitra sady tonga mpandefa tsipìka."
21. And he dwelt in the wilderness of Paran: and his mother took him a wife out of the land of Egypt.
21. Il habita dans le désert de Paran, et sa mère lui prit une femme du pays d`Égypte.
21. "Ary nonina tany an' efitra Parana izy; dia nakan' ny reniny vady avy tany amin' ny tany Egypta izy."
The Treaty at Beersheba
22. And it came to pass at that time, that Abimelech and Phichol the chief captain of his host spake unto Abraham, saying, God is with thee in all that thou doest:
22. En ce temps-là, Abimélec, accompagné de Picol, chef de son armée, parla ainsi à Abraham: Dieu est avec toi dans tout ce que tu fais.
22. "Ary izao no niseho tamin' izany fotoana izany, Abimeleka sy Pikola, komandin' ny miaramilany dia niteny tamin' i Abrahama ka nanao hoe: Omban' Andriamanitra ianao amin' izay rehetra ataonao;"
23. Now therefore swear unto me here by God that thou wilt not deal falsely with me, nor with my son, nor with my son's son: but according to the kindness that I have done unto thee, thou shalt do unto me, and to the land wherein thou hast sojourned.
23. Jure-moi maintenant ici, par le nom de Dieu, que tu ne tromperas ni moi, ni mes enfants, ni mes petits-enfants, et que tu auras pour moi et le pays où tu séjournes la même bienveillance que j`ai eue pour toi.
23. "Koa ankehitriny, ianiano amin' Andriamanitra aho eto, fa tsy hamitaka ahy na ny zanako na ny taranako ianao; fa araka ny soa izay efa nataoko taminao no mba ataovy amiko sy amin' ny tany izay hivahinianao."
24. And Abraham said, I will swear.
24. Abraham dit: Je le jurerai.
24. Ary hoy Abrahama: Hianiana aho.
25. And Abraham reproved Abimelech because of a well of water, which Abimelech's servants had violently taken away.
25. Mais Abraham fit des reproches à Abimélec, au sujet d`un puits d`eau, dont s`étaient emparés de force les serviteurs d`Abimélec.
25. Ary nananatra an' i Abimeleka i Abrahama noho ny lavaka fantsakana anankiray izay nalain' ny mpanompon' i Abimeleka an-keriny.
26. And Abimelech said, I wot not who hath done this thing: neither didst thou tell me, neither yet heard I of it, but to day.
26. "Abimélec répondit: J`ignore qui a fait cette chose-là; tu ne m`en as point informé, et moi, je ne l`apprends qu`aujourd`hui."
26. "Dia hoy Abimeleka: Tsy fantatro izay nanao izany; fa tsy mbola nanambara tamiko ianao, ary tsy mbola nahare ny amin' izany koa aho, raha tsy androany."
27. And Abraham took sheep and oxen, and gave them unto Abimelech; and both of them made a covenant.
27. "Et Abraham prit des brebis et des boeufs, qu`il donna à Abimélec; et ils firent tous deux alliance."
27. "Ary naka ondry sy omby Abrahama ka nomeny an' i Abimeleka izany; dia nanao fanekena izy roa lahy."
28. And Abraham set seven ewe lambs of the flock by themselves.
28. Abraham mit à part sept jeunes brebis.
28. Ary nanavaka ondrivavy kely fito teo amin' ny ondry aman' osy Abrahama.
29. And Abimelech said unto Abraham, What mean these seven ewe lambs which thou hast set by themselves?
29. Et Abimélec dit à Abraham: Qu`est-ce que ces sept jeunes brebis, que tu as mises à part?
29. Ary hoy Abimeleka tamin' i Abrahama: Inona no dikan' ireto ondrivavy kely fito izay efa navahanao ireto?
30. And he said, For these seven ewe lambs shalt thou take of my hand, that they may be a witness unto me, that I have digged this well.
30. Il répondit: Tu accepteras de ma main ces sept brebis, afin que cela me serve de témoignage que j`ai creusé ce puits.
30. Ary hoy izy: Mba horaisinao avy amin' ny tanako ireo ondrivavy kely fito ireo ho vavolombelona amiko, fa efa nihady io lavaka fantsakana io aho.
31. Wherefore he called that place Beersheba; because there they sware both of them.
31. "C`est pourquoi on appelle ce lieu Beer Schéba; car c`est là qu`ils jurèrent l`un et l`autre."
31. "Izany no nanaovana io tany io hoe Beri-sheba; satria teo no nianianan' izy roa lahy."
32. Thus they made a covenant at Beersheba: then Abimelech rose up, and Phichol the chief captain of his host, and they returned into the land of the Philistines.
32. "Ils firent donc alliance à Beer Schéba. Après quoi, Abimélec se leva, avec Picol, chef de son armée; et ils retournèrent au pays des Philistins."
32. "Toy izany no nanaovany fanekena tany Beri-sheba; dia niainga Abimeleka sy Pikola komandin' ny miaramilany, ka niverina ho any amin' ny tanin' ny Filistina izy ireo."
33. And Abraham planted a grove in Beersheba, and called there on the name of the LORD, the everlasting God.
33. "Abraham planta des tamariscs à Beer Schéba; et là il invoqua le nom de l`Éternel, Dieu de l`éternité."
33. Dia namboly hazo tamariska tao Beri-sheba Abrahama, ka nantsoiny tao ny anaran' i Jehovah, Ilay Andriamanitra mandrakizay.
34. And Abraham sojourned in the Philistines' land many days.
34. Abraham séjourna longtemps dans le pays des Philistins.
34. Ary nivahiny andro maro tany amin' ny tanin' ny Filistina Abrahama.
