The Beginning
1. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
1. Au commencement, Dieu créa les cieux et la terre.

2. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
2. La terre était informe et vide: il y avait des ténèbres à la surface de l`abîme, et l'esprit de Dieu se mouvait au-dessus des eaux.
2. "Ary ny tany dia tsy nisy endrika sady foana; ary haizina no tambonin' ny lalina. Ary ny Fanahin' Andriamanitra nanomba tambonin' ny rano."
3. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
3. Dieu dit: Que la lumière soit! Et la lumière fut.
3. "Ary hoy Andriamanitra: Misia mazava; dia nisy mazava."
4. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
4. "Dieu vit que la lumière était bonne; et Dieu sépara la lumière d`avec les ténèbres."
4. "Ary hitan' Andriamanitra ny mazava, fa tsara izany; ary nampisarahan' Andriamanitra ny mazava sy ny maizina."
5. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
5. Dieu appela la lumière jour, et il appela les ténèbres nuit. Ainsi, il y eut un soir, et il y eut un matin: ce fut le premier jour.
5. "Ary nanao ny mazava hoe 'andro' Andriamanitra; ary ny maizina nataony hoe 'alina'. Dia nisy hariva, ary nisy maraina, izany no andro voalohany."
6. And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
6. Dieu dit: Qu`il y ait une étendue entre les eaux, et qu`elle sépare les eaux d`avec les eaux.
6. "Ary hoy Andriamanitra: Misia habakabaka eo anelanelan' ny rano; ary aoka hampisaraka ny rano amin' ny rano izany."
7. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
7. Et Dieu fit l`étendue, et il sépara les eaux qui sont au-dessous de l`étendue d`avec les eaux qui sont au-dessus de l`étendue. Et cela fut ainsi.
7. "Ary nanao ny habakabaka Andriamanitra ka nampisaraka ny rano ambanin' ny habakabaka tamin' ny rano ambonin' ny habakabaka; dia nisy izany."
8. And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
8. Dieu appela l`étendue ciel. Ainsi, il y eut un soir, et il y eut un matin: ce fut le second jour.
8. Ary nataon' Andriamanitra hoe 'lanitra' ny habakabaka. Dia nisy hariva, ary nisy maraina, izany no andro faharoa.
9. And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
9. Dieu dit: Que les eaux qui sont au-dessous du ciel se rassemblent en un seul lieu, et que le sec paraisse. Et cela fut ainsi.
9. "Ary hoy Andriamanitra: aoka hiangona ny rano eny ambanin' ny lanitra ho eo amin' ny fitoerana iray, ary aoka hiseho ny tany maina; dia nisy izany."
10. And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.
10. Dieu appela le sec terre, et il appela l`amas des eaux mers. Dieu vit que cela était bon.
10. "Ary nanao ny toerana maina hoe 'tany' Andriamanitra; ary ny rano tafangona nataony hoe 'ranomasina'. Ary hitan' Andriamanitra fa tsara izany."
11. And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
11. Puis Dieu dit: Que la terre produise de la verdure, de l`herbe portant de la semence, des arbres fruitiers donnant du fruit selon leur espèce et ayant en eux leur semence sur la terre. Et cela fut ainsi.
11. "Ary hoy Andriamanitra: Aoka ny tany haniry ahitra sy anana mamoa ary hazo fihinam-boa izay mamoa, samy araka ny karazany avy, ka manam-boa ao aminy, eny ambonin' ny tany; dia nisy izany."
12. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
12. La terre produisit de la verdure, de l`herbe portant de la semence selon son espèce, et des arbres donnant du fruit et ayant en eux leur semence selon leur espèce. Dieu vit que cela était bon.
12. Ary naniry ahitra sy anana mamoa, samy araka ny karazany avy ny tany, ary hazo mamoa izay manam-boa ao aminy, samy araka ny karazany avy. Ary hitan' Andriamanitra fa tsara izany.
13. And the evening and the morning were the third day.
13. Ainsi, il y eut un soir, et il y eut un matin: ce fut le troisième jour.
13. Dia nisy hariva, ary nisy maraina, izany no andro fahatelo.
14. And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
14. "Dieu dit: Qu`il y ait des luminaires dans l`étendue du ciel, pour séparer le jour d`avec la nuit; que ce soient des signes pour marquer les époques, les jours et les années;"
14. "Ary hoy Andriamanitra: Misia fanazavana eny amin' ny habakabaky ny lanitra hampisaraka ny andro sy ny alina; ary aoka ho famantarana sy ho fotoana ary ho andro sy taona ireo."
15. And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
15. et qu`ils servent de luminaires dans l`étendue du ciel, pour éclairer la terre. Et cela fut ainsi.
15. "Ary aoka ho fanazavana eny amin' ny habakabaky ny lanitra izy hanazava eny ambonin' ny tany; dia nisy izany."
16. And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
16. "Dieu fit les deux grands luminaires, le plus grand luminaire pour présider au jour, et le plus petit luminaire pour présider à la nuit; il fit aussi les étoiles."
16. "Ary nanao ny fanazavana roa lehibe Andriamanitra, dia ny fanazavana lehibe ho mpanapaka ny andro ary ny fanazavana kely ho mpanapaka ny alina; dia nanao ny kintana koa Izy."
17. And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
17. Dieu les plaça dans l`étendue du ciel, pour éclairer la terre,
17. Ary nametraka azy teny amin' ny habakabaky ny lanitra Andriamanitra mba hanazava eny ambonin' ny tany,
18. And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.
18. pour présider au jour et à la nuit, et pour séparer la lumière d`avec les ténèbres. Dieu vit que cela était bon.
18. sy ho mpanapaka ny andro sy ny alina ary hampisaraka ny mazava amin' ny maizina. Ary hitan' Andriamanitra fa tsara izany.
19. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
19. Ainsi, il y eut un soir, et il y eut un matin: ce fut le quatrième jour.
19. Dia nisy maraina ary nisy hariva, izany no andro fahefatra.
20. And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
20. Dieu dit: Que les eaux produisent en abondance des animaux vivants, et que des oiseaux volent sur la terre vers l`étendue du ciel.
20. Ary hoy Andriamanitra: Aoka ireo rano hamoaka zava-manan' aina mihetsiketsika betsaka, mbamin' ny vorona hanidina ambonin' ny tany eny amin' ny habakabaky ny lanitra.
21. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
21. "Dieu créa les grands poissons et tous les animaux vivants qui se meuvent, et que les eaux produisirent en abondance selon leur espèce; il créa aussi tout oiseau ailé selon son espèce. Dieu vit que cela était bon."
21. Ary Andriamanitra nahary ny trozona lehibe sy ny zava-manan' aina mihetsiketsika rehetra, izay efa betsaka ao anaty rano, samy araka ny karazany avy sy ny voro-manidina rehetra samy araka ny karazany avy. Ary hitan' Andriamanitra fa tsara izany.
22. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
22. "Dieu les bénit, en disant: Soyez féconds, multipliez, et remplissez les eaux des mers; et que les oiseaux multiplient sur la terre."
22. Ary Andriamanitra nitsodrano azy hoe: Maroa anaka sy mihabetsaha ary mamenoa ny rano ao amin' ny ranomasina, ary aoka ny vorona hihamaro eny ambonin' ny tany.
23. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
23. Ainsi, il y eut un soir, et il y eut un matin: ce fut le cinquième jour.
23. Dia nisy hariva, ary nisy maraina, izany no andro fahadimy.
24. And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.
24. Dieu dit: Que la terre produise des animaux vivants selon leur espèce, du bétail, des reptiles et des animaux terrestres, selon leur espèce. Et cela fut ainsi.
24. "Ary hoy Andriamanitra: Aoka ny tany hamoaka zava-manan' aina, samy araka ny karazany avy, dia biby fiompy sy biby mandady, na mikisaka ary biby amin' ny tany samy araka ny karazany avy; dia nisy izany."
25. And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
25. Dieu fit les animaux de la terre selon leur espèce, le bétail selon son espèce, et tous les reptiles de la terre selon leur espèce. Dieu vit que cela était bon.
25. "Ary Andriamanitra nanao ny biby amin' ny tany samy araka ny karazany avy sy ny biby fiompy, samy araka ny karazany avy ary ny biby rehetra izay mandady, na mikisaka amin' ny tany, samy araka ny karazany avy; ary hitan' Andriamanitra fa tsara izany."
26. And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
26. Puis Dieu dit: Faisons l`homme à notre image, selon notre ressemblance, et qu`il domine sur les poissons de la mer, sur les oiseaux du ciel, sur le bétail, sur toute la terre, et sur tous les reptiles qui rampent sur la terre.
26. "Ary hoy Andriamanitra: Andeha Isika hamboatra olona tahaka ny endritsika, araka ny tarehintsika; ary aoka izy hanapaka amin' ny hazandrano ao amin' ny ranomasina sy amin' ny voro-manidina eny amin' ny habakabaka sy amin' ny biby fiompy sy amin' ny tany rehetra ary amin' ny biby rehetra izay mandady, na mikisaka amin' ny tany."
27. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
27. Dieu créa l`homme à son image, il le créa à l`image de Dieu, il créa l`homme et la femme.
27. "Ary Andriamanitra nahary ny olona ho tahaka ny endriny, tahaka ny endrik' Andriamanitra no namoronany azy; lahy sy vavy no namoronany azy."
28. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
28. "Dieu les bénit, et Dieu leur dit: Soyez féconds, multipliez, remplissez la terre, et l`assujettissez; et dominez sur les poissons de la mer, sur les oiseaux du ciel, et sur tout animal qui se meut sur la terre."
28. "Ary nitsodrano azy ireo Andriamanitra ka hoy Izy taminy: Maroa fara sy mihabetsaha, ary mamenoa ny tany, ka ampanompoy izy; ary manapaha amin' ny hazandrano ao amin' ny ranomasina sy ny voro-manidina eny amin' ny habakabaka ary ny zava-manan' aina rehetra izay mihetsiketsika ambonin' ny tany."
29. And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
29. Et Dieu dit: Voici, je vous donne toute herbe portant de la semence et qui est à la surface de toute la terre, et tout arbre ayant en lui du fruit d`arbre et portant de la semence: ce sera votre nourriture.
29. "Ary hoy Andriamanitra: Indro efa nomeko anareo ny anana mitondra voa rehetra izay ambonin' ny tany rehetra ary ny hazo rehetra izay misy voa sady manintsam-boa; dia ho fihinana ho anareo izany."
30. And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
30. Et à tout animal de la terre, à tout oiseau du ciel, et à tout ce qui se meut sur la terre, ayant en soi un souffle de vie, je donne toute herbe verte pour nourriture. Et cela fut ainsi.
30. "Ary ny amin' ny biby rehetra ambonin' ny tany sy ny voro-manidina eny amin' ny habakabaka rehetra ary ny zava-manan' aina rehetra izay mandady, na mikisaka amin' ny tany, dia efa nomeko ny ahi-maitso rehetra ho fihinana; dia nisy izany."
31. And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
31. Dieu vit tout ce qu`il avait fait et voici, cela était très bon. Ainsi, il y eut un soir, et il y eut un matin: ce fut le sixième jour.
31. Ary hitan' Andriamanitra izay rehetra nataony, ary indro, tsara indrindra izany. Dia nisy hariva, ary nisy maraina, izany no andro fahenina.
