1. Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
1. DIA vita ny lanitra sy ny tany sy izay rehetra ao aminy.
2. And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
2. "Ary tamin' ny andro fahafito dia vitan' Andriamanitra ny asa efa nataony; dia nitsahatra tamin' ny andro fahafito Izy tamin' ny asany rehetra izay efa nataony."
3. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
3. Ary Andriamanitra nitahy ny andro fahafito sy nanamasina azy, satria tamin' izany no nitsaharan' Andriamanitra tamin' ny asany rehetra izay noforoniny sy nataony.

Adam and Eve

4. These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens,
4. Ary izao no tantaran' ny lanitra sy ny tany tamin' ny namoronana azy, dia tamin' ny andro nanaovan' i Jehovah Andriamanitra ny lanitra sy ny tany,
5. And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.
5. "Sy ny hazo madinika famboly talohan' ny nisiany teto ambonin' ny tany ary ny anana eny an-tsaha talohan' ny naniriany: fa tsy mbola nampilatsaka ranonorana tambonin' ny tany Jehovah Andriamanitra, ary tsy nisy olona hiasa ny tany;"
6. But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.
6. Nefa nisy zavona niakatra avy tamin' ny tany ka nandena ny tany rehetra.
7. And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
7. "Ary vovo-tany no nanamboaran' i Jehovah Andriamanitra ny olona, ary nofofoniny fofonaina mahavelona ny vavorony; dia tonga fanahy manan' aina ny olona."
8. And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
8. Ary nanisy saha tao Edena tany atsinanana Jehovah Andriamanitra, ka napetrany tao ralehilahy izay namboariny.
9. And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
9. "Ary nampanirin' i Jehovah Andriamanitra teo amin' ny tany ny hazo rehetra izay maha-te-hizaha sady tsara ho fihinana; ary ny hazon' aina koa dia teo afovoan' ny saha sy ny hazo fahalalana ny tsara sy ny ratsy."
10. And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads.
10. "Ary nisy ony nivoaka avy tao Edena mba handena ny saha; hatreo izy dia nizara ka nisampana efatra:"
11. The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold;
11. "Ny anaran' ny voalohany dia Pisona; io no mandeha manodidina ny tany Havila rehetra, izay misy volamena;"
12. And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone.
12. "Ary tsara ny volamena amin' izany tany izany; any ny bedola sy ny vato onyksa."
13. And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia.
13. "Ary ny anaran' ny ony faharoa dia Gihona; io no mandeha manodidina ny tany Etiopia rehetra."
14. And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates.
14. "Ary ny anaran' ny ony fahatelo dia Hidekela; io no manitsy mankany atsinanan' i Asyria. Ary ny ony fahefatra dia Eofrata."
15. And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.
15. Ary nitondra an-dralehilahy Jehovah Andriamanitra ka nametraka azy tao amin' ny saha Edena mba hiasa sy hitandrina azy.
16. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
16. "Ary nandidy an-dralehilahy Jehovah Andriamanitra ka nanao hoe: Ny hazo rehetra eo amin' ny saha dia azonao ihinana malalaka ;"
17. But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
17. "Fa ny avy amin' ny hazo fahalalana ny tsara sy ny ratsy dia aza ihinananao; fa amin' ny andro ihinananao izany dia ho faty tokoa ianao."
18. And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
18. Ary hoy Jehovah Andriamanitra: Tsy tsara raha irery ralehilahy, fa hanaovako mpanampy sahaza ho azy izy.
19. And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
19. "Ary avy amin' ny tany no namoronan' i Jehovah Andriamanitra ny biby rehetra any an-tsaha sy ny voro-manidina eny amin' ny habakabaka rehetra; dia nentiny tany amin' i Adama ireny hahitany izay hanononany azy avy; ary izay rehetra nanononan' i Adama ny zava-manan' aina rehetra, dia izany no anarany."
20. And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.
20. "Dia nomen' i Adama anarana ny biby fiompy rehetra sy ny voro-manidina eny amin' ny habakabaka, mbamin' ny biby rehetra any an-tsaha; fa ny amin' i Adama dia tsy hita izay mpanampy sahaza ho azy."
21. And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
21. "Ary Jehovah Andriamanitra nahasondrian-tory an' i Adama, ka dia natory izy; dia naka ny iray tamin' ny taolan-tehezany Izy ka nanakombona nofo ho solony."
22. And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
22. Ary ny taolan-tehezana izay nalain' i Jehovah Andriamanitra tamin-dralehilahy dia nataony vehivavy ka nentiny tany amin-dralehilahy.
23. And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
23. "Ary hoy Adama: Ankehitriny dia taolana avy amin' ny taolako sy nofo avy amin' ny nofoko ity; hatao hoe 'Vehivavy' izy, satria nalaina avy tamin' ny 'Lehilahy'."
24. Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
24. "Noho izany ny lehilahy dia handao ny rainy sy ny reniny ka hikambana amin' ny vadiny; ary dia ho nofo iray ihany ireo."
25. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.
25. Ary nitanjaka izy roroa, dia ralehilahy sy ny vadiny, nefa tsy nahalala henatra izy ireo.
