Jerusalem's Sins
1. Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
1. La parole de l`Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:

2. Now, thou son of man, wilt thou judge, wilt thou judge the bloody city? yea, thou shalt shew her all her abominations.
2. Et toi, fils de l`homme, jugeras-tu, jugeras-tu la ville sanguinaire? Fais-lui connaître toutes ses abominations!
2. Ry zanak' olona, moa tsy hitsara va ianao? Tsy hitsara ny tanàna mpandatsa-drà va ianao? Eny, ampahafantaro azy ny fahavetavetany rehetra.
3. Then say thou, Thus saith the Lord GOD, The city sheddeth blood in the midst of it, that her time may come, and maketh idols against herself to defile herself.
3. Tu diras: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l`Éternel: Ville qui répands le sang au milieu de toi, pour que ton jour arrive, et qui te fais des idoles pour te souiller!
3. Ka ataovy hoe: Izao no lazain' i Jehovah Andriamanitra: Tanàna mpandatsa-drà ao ampovoany hahatonga ny fotoany sady manao sampy ao aminy hahaloto azy.
4. Thou art become guilty in thy blood that thou hast shed; and hast defiled thyself in thine idols which thou hast made; and thou hast caused thy days to draw near, and art come even unto thy years: therefore have I made thee a reproach unto the heathen, and a mocking to all countries.
4. Tu es coupable à cause du sang que tu as répandu, et tu t`es souillée par les idoles que tu as faites. Tu as ainsi avancé tes jours, et tu es parvenue au terme de tes années. C`est pourquoi je te rends un objet d`opprobre pour les nations et de moquerie pour tous les pays.
4. "Ny rà izay nalatsakao no nahameloka anao ary ny sampy izay nataonao no nahaloto anao; ary efa nampanakaiky ny andronao ianao ka efa tonga amin' ny taonanao, koa izany no nanaovako anao ho fandàtsan' ny jentilisa sy ho fanakòran' ny tany rehetra,"
5. Those that be near, and those that be far from thee, shall mock thee, which art infamous and much vexed.
5. Ceux qui sont près et ceux qui sont au loin se moqueront de toi, qui es souillée de réputation et pleine de trouble.

6. Behold, the princes of Israel, every one were in thee to their power to shed blood.
6. "Voici, au dedans de toi, tous les princes d`Israël usent de leur force pour répandre le sang;"
6. Indreo ny lehiben' ny Isiraely efa samy ao aminao araka ny heriny avy mba handatsa-dra.
7. In thee have they set light by father and mother: in the midst of thee have they dealt by oppression with the stranger: in thee have they vexed the fatherless and the widow.
7. au dedans de toi, l`on méprise père et mère, on maltraite l`étranger, on opprime l`orphelin et la veuve.
7. "Ao aminao no anozonana ray aman-dreny; ary ao aminao no anaovana izay sarotra amin' ny vahiny; ary ao aminao no ampahoriana ny kamboty sy ny mpitondratena."
8. Thou hast despised mine holy things, and hast profaned my sabbaths.
8. Tu dédaignes mes sanctuaires, tu profanes mes sabbats.
8. Nohamavoinao ny zavatra masina, ary nolotoinao ireo sabatako.
9. In thee are men that carry tales to shed blood: and in thee they eat upon the mountains: in the midst of thee they commit lewdness.
9. "Il y a chez toi des calomniateurs pour répandre le sang; chez toi, l`on mange sur les montagnes; on commet le crime dans ton sein."
9. "Ao aminao misy olona mandehandeha manaratsy mba handatsa-dra; ary ao aminao misy mihinana eny an-tendrombohitra; ao aminao misy manao fahavetavetana."
10. In thee have they discovered their fathers' nakedness: in thee have they humbled her that was set apart for pollution.
10. "Au milieu de toi, on découvre la nudité du père; au milieu de toi, on fait violence à la femme pendant son impureté."
10. "Ao aminao misy mandry amin-drainy; ao aminao misy misavika izay mararin' ny fadimbolana."
11. And one hath committed abomination with his neighbour's wife; and another hath lewdly defiled his daughter in law; and another in thee hath humbled his sister, his father's daughter.
11. Au milieu de toi, chacun se livre à des abominations avec la femme de son prochain, chacun se souille par l`inceste avec sa belle-fille, chacun déshonore sa soeur, fille de son père.
11. "Misy manao fahavetavetana amin' ny vadin' ny namany; misy manao fahavetavetana mandoto ny vinantovaviny; ary misy misavika ny anabaviny, zanakavavin-drainy."
12. In thee have they taken gifts to shed blood; thou hast taken usury and increase, and thou hast greedily gained of thy neighbours by extortion, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord GOD.
12. Chez toi, l`on reçoit des présents pour répandre le sang: tu exiges un intérêt et une usure, tu dépouilles ton prochain par la violence, et moi, tu m`oublies, dit le Seigneur, l`Éternel.
12. "Ao aminao misy mandray kolikoly handatsa-dra; maka zana-bola sy tombony ianao sady manao an-keriny mandroba ny an' ny namanao ka manadino Ahy, hoy Jehovah Andriamanitra."
13. Behold, therefore I have smitten mine hand at thy dishonest gain which thou hast made, and at thy blood which hath been in the midst of thee.
13. Voici, je frappe des mains à cause de la cupidité que tu as eue, et du sang qui a été répandu au milieu de toi.
13. Koa, indro, manjera ny tanako Aho noho ny harena azonao tamin' ny tsy marina sy ny latsa-drà tao aminao.
14. Can thine heart endure, or can thine hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with thee? I the LORD have spoken it, and will do it.
14. Ton coeur sera-t-il ferme, tes mains auront-elles de la force dans les jours où j`agirai contre toi? Moi, l`Éternel, j`ai parlé, et j`agirai.
14. Hahatoha va ny fonao na hahazaka va ny tananao amin' ny andro izay hisehoako aminao? Izaho Jehovah no efa nilaza sady hahatanteraka izany.
15. And I will scatter thee among the heathen, and disperse thee in the countries, and will consume thy filthiness out of thee.
15. Je te disperserai parmi les nations, je te répandrai en divers pays, et je ferai disparaître ton impureté du milieu de toi.
15. Ary haeliko ho any amin' ny jentilisa sy hahahako ho any amin' ny tany samy hafa ianao, ary holevoniko ho afaka aminao mihitsy ny fahalotoanao.
16. And thou shalt take thine inheritance in thyself in the sight of the heathen, and thou shalt know that I am the LORD.
16. Tu seras souillée par toi-même aux yeux des nations, et tu sauras que je suis l`Éternel.
16. Ary dia ho hitan' ny jentilisa fa ny nataonao ihany no nahaloto anao ka dia ho fantatrao fa Izaho no Jehovah.
17. And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
17. La parole de l`Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:
17. Ary tonga tamiko ny tenin' i Jehovah nanao hoe:
18. Son of man, the house of Israel is to me become dross: all they are brass, and tin, and iron, and lead, in the midst of the furnace; they are even the dross of silver.
18. "Fils de l`homme, la maison d`Israël est devenue pour moi comme des scories; ils sont tous de l`airain, de l`étain, du fer, du plomb, dans le creuset; ce sont des scories d`argent."
18. "Ry zanak' olona, ny taranak' Isiraely dia efa tonga tain-drendrika amiko; izy rehetra dia varahina sy vifotsy sy vy ary firaka ao anatin' ny memy; eny, efa tonga taim-bolafotsy izy."
19. Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye are all become dross, behold, therefore I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem.
19. C`est pourquoi ainsi parle le Seigneur, l`Éternel: Parce que vous êtes tous devenus comme des scories, voici, je vous rassemblerai au milieu de Jérusalem.
19. Koa izao no lazain' i Jehovah Andriamanitra: Noho ny nahatongavanareo rehetra ho tain-drendrika, dia, indro, hangoniko ho ao Jerosalema ianareo.
20. As they gather silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin, into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to melt it; so will I gather you in mine anger and in my fury, and I will leave you there, and melt you.
20. Comme on rassemble l`argent, l`airain, le fer, le plomb et l`étain, dans le creuset, et qu`on souffle le feu pour les fondre, ainsi je vous rassemblerai dans ma colère et dans ma fureur, et je vous mettrai au creuset pour vous fondre.
20. "Toy ny fanangonana volafotsy sy varahina sy vy sy firaka ary vifotsy ho ao anatin' ny memy ka misy mifofotra azy amin' ny afo ho rendrika, dia toy izany no hanangonako anareo amin' ny fahatezerako sy ny fahavinirako ary hataoko ao ianareo ka ho voarendrika;"
21. Yea, I will gather you, and blow upon you in the fire of my wrath, and ye shall be melted in the midst thereof.
21. "Je vous rassemblerai, et je soufflerai contre vous avec le feu de ma fureur; et vous serez fondus au milieu de Jérusalem."
21. Eny, hangoniko ianareo, dia hifofotra anareo amin' ny afon' ny fahatezerako Aho ka ho voarendrika ao anatiny ianareo.
22. As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall ye be melted in the midst thereof; and ye shall know that I the LORD have poured out my fury upon you.
22. Comme l`argent fond dans le creuset, ainsi vous serez fondus au milieu d`elle. Et vous saurez que moi, l`Éternel, j`ai répandu ma fureur sur vous.
22. "Toy ny fandrendrika volafotsy ao anatin' ny memy no handrendrehana anareo ao anatiny; ka dia ho fantatrareo fa Izaho Jehovah no nampidina ny fahatezerako aminareo."
23. And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
23. La parole de l`Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:
23. Ary tonga tamiko ny tenin' i Jehovah nanao hoe:
24. Son of man, say unto her, Thou art the land that is not cleansed, nor rained upon in the day of indignation.
24. Fils de l`homme, dis à Jérusalem: Tu es une terre qui n`est pas purifiée, qui n`est pas arrosée de pluie au jour de la colère.
24. Ry zanak' olona, lazao aminy hoe: Ianao no tany tsy voadio sady tsy ilatsahan' ny ranonorana amin' ny andro fahatezerana.
25. There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things; they have made her many widows in the midst thereof.
25. "Ses prophètes conspirent dans son sein; comme des lions rugissants qui déchirent leur proie, ils dévorent les âmes, ils s`emparent des richesses et des choses précieuses, ils multiplient les veuves au milieu d`elle."
25. "Misy fikomian' ny mpaminaniny ao aminy; tahaka ny liona mierona mamiravira haza izy; nandevona ny fanahy izy sady nahalasa ny harena sy ny zava-tsoa ary nahamaro ny mpitondratena ao aminy."
26. Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.
26. Ses sacrificateurs violent ma loi et profanent mes sanctuaires, ils ne distinguent pas ce qui est saint de ce qui est profane, ils ne font pas connaître la différence entre ce qui est impur et ce qui est pur, ils détournent les yeux de mes sabbats, et je suis profané au milieu d`eux.
26. "Ny mpisorony dia nandika ny lalàko sy nandoto ny zavatro masina; tsy nanavaka ny masina sy ny tsy masina izy, na nampiseho ny tsy fitovian' ny maloto sy ny madio, ary nitampi-maso tsy hijery ireo sabatako izy ary tsiratsiraina ao aminy Aho."
27. Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain.
27. "Ses chefs sont dans son sein comme des loups qui déchirent leur proie; ils répandent le sang, perdent les âmes, pour assouvir leur cupidité."
27. Toy ny amboadia mamiravira haza ny lehibeny ao aminy ka mandatsa-drà sy mandringana fanahy mba hahazo harena amin' ny tsy marina.
28. And her prophets have daubed them with untempered morter, seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord GOD, when the LORD hath not spoken.
28. "Et ses prophètes ont pour eux des enduits de plâtre, de vaines visions, des oracles menteurs; ils disent: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l`Éternel! Et l`Éternel ne leur a point parlé."
28. "Ary ny mpaminaniny nandalotra azy tamin' ny feta tsy madity ka mahita zava-poana sy maminany lainga aminy hoe: Izao no lazain' i Jehovah Andriamanitra; nefa Jehovah tsy niteny tsinona."
29. The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery, and have vexed the poor and needy: yea, they have oppressed the stranger wrongfully.
29. Le peuple du pays se livre à la violence, commet des rapines, opprime le malheureux et l`indigent, foule l`étranger contre toute justice.
29. "Ny vahoaka amin' ny tany nanao an-keriny sy nandroba ka nampahory ny mahantra sy ny olon-tsahirana; ary ny vahiny dia ampahoriany tsy an-drariny."
30. And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.
30. "Je cherche parmi eux un homme qui élève un mur, qui se tienne à la brèche devant moi en faveur du pays, afin que je ne le détruise pas; mais je n`en trouve point."
30. "Ary nitady olona teo aminy Aho hanao manda sy hijanona eo amin' ny banga eo anatrehako hifona ho an' ny tany mba tsy handravako azy, kanjo tsy nahita;"
31. Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord GOD.
31. Je répandrai sur eux ma fureur, je les consumerai par le feu de ma colère, je ferai retomber leurs oeuvres sur leur tête, dit le Seigneur, l`Éternel.
31. "Koa dia naidiko eo aminy ny fahatezerako; ny afon' ny fahatezerako no nandaniako azy; ary natsingeriko ho eo an-dohany ihany ny alehany, hoy Jehovah Andriamanitra."
