babylon, God's Sword of Judgment
1. And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
1. (21:6) Et la parole de l`Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:
1. Dia tonga tamiko ny tenin' i Jehovah nanao hoe:
2. Son of man, set thy face toward Jerusalem, and drop thy word toward the holy places, and prophesy against the land of Israel,
2. (21:7) Fils de l`homme, tourne ta face vers Jérusalem, Et parle contre les lieux saints! Prophétise contre le pays d`Israël!
2. Ry zanak' olona, manandrifia an' i Jerosalema, ary mitenena manandrify ny fitoerana masina, ka maminania ny amin' ny hamelezana ny tanin' ny Isiraely.
3. And say to the land of Israel, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I am against thee, and will draw forth my sword out of his sheath, and will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked.
3. (21:8) Tu diras au pays d`Israël: Ainsi parle l`Éternel: Voici, j`en veux à toi, Je tirerai mon épée de son fourreau, Et j`exterminerai du milieu de toi le juste et le méchant.
3. Ary ataovy amin' ny tanin' ny Isiraely hoe: Izao no lazain' i Jehovah: Indro, Izaho mamely anao, ary hotsoahako amin' ny tranony ny sabatro, ka haringako ny marina sy ny meloka eo aminao.
4. Seeing then that I will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked, therefore shall my sword go forth out of his sheath against all flesh from the south to the north:
4. (21:9) Parce que je veux exterminer du milieu de toi le juste et le méchant, Mon épée sortira de son fourreau, Pour frapper toute chair, Du midi au septentrion.
4. "Ary noho ny handringanako ny marina sy ny meloka eo aminao dia izany no hitsoahan' ny sabatro amin' ny tranony hamely ny nofo rehetra hatrany atsimo ka hatrany avaratra;"
5. That all flesh may know that I the LORD have drawn forth my sword out of his sheath: it shall not return any more.
5. (21:10) Et toute chair saura Que moi, l`Éternel, j`ai tiré mon épée de son fourreau. Elle n`y rentrera plus.
5. "Ka dia ho fantatry ny nofo rehetra fa izaho Jehovah no nanatsoaka ny sabatro tamin' ny tranony; tsy hiditra intsony izy."
6. Sigh therefore, thou son of man, with the breaking of thy loins; and with bitterness sigh before their eyes.
6. (21:11) Et toi, fils de l`homme, gémis! Les reins brisés et l`amertume dans l`âme, Gémis sous leurs regards!
6. Ary ianao, ry zanak' olona, midridridridria toy ny tapa-balahana, eny, midridridridria amin' ny fangidiana eo imasony.
7. And it shall be, when they say unto thee, Wherefore sighest thou? that thou shalt answer, For the tidings; because it cometh: and every heart shall melt, and all hands shall be feeble, and every spirit shall faint, and all knees shall be weak as water: behold, it cometh, and shall be brought to pass, saith the Lord GOD.
7. (21:12) Et s`ils te disent: Pourquoi gémis-tu? Tu répondras: Parce qu`il arrive une nouvelle... Tous les coeurs s`alarmeront, Toutes les mains deviendront faibles, Tous les esprits seront abattus, Tous les genoux se fondront en eau... Voici, elle arrive, elle est là! Dit le Seigneur, l`Éternel.
7. Ary izao no hisy, raha izy manao aminao hoe: Nahoana ianao no midridridridry? Dia valio hoe: Noho ny teny efa re fa ho avy izany. Ho kivy ny fo rehetra, ary hiraviravy ny tanana rehetra, ary hivarahontsana ny fanahy rehetra, sady hanjary ho toy ny rano ny lohalika rehetra, eny, ho avy izany ka ho tanteraka, hoy Jehovah Andriamanitra.
8. Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
8. (21:13) La parole de l`Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:
8. Dia tonga tamiko indray ny tenin' i Jehovah nanao hoe:
9. Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus saith the LORD; Say, A sword, a sword is sharpened, and also furbished:
9. (21:14) Fils de l`homme, prophétise, et dis: Ainsi parle l`Éternel. Dis: L`épée! l`épée! Elle est aiguisée, elle est polie.
9. Ry zanak' olona, maminania ka ataovy hoe: Izao no lazain' i Jehovah: Injao, sabatra, sabatra voaranitra sady voafotsy koa.
10. It is sharpened to make a sore slaughter; it is furbished that it may glitter: should we then make mirth? it contemneth the rod of my son, as every tree.
10. (21:15) C`est pour massacrer qu`elle est aiguisée, C`est pour étinceler qu`elle est polie... Nous réjouirons-nous? Le sceptre de mon fils méprise tout bois...
10. "Voaranitra hahafaty be izy; voafotsy hanelatselatra izy; tokony hifaly va isika amin' izany? Ny tsorakazon' ny zanako no vingavingainy, toy ny hazo rehetra."
11. And he hath given it to be furbished, that it may be handled: this sword is sharpened, and it is furbished, to give it into the hand of the slayer.
11. "(21:16) On l`a donnée à polir, Pour que la main la saisisse; Elle est aiguisée, l`épée, elle est polie, Pour armer la main de celui qui massacre."
11. "Ary nomena hofotsiana izy mba horaisin-tanana; voaranitra io sabatra io sady voafotsy, mba hatolotra eo an-tanan' ny mpamono."
12. Cry and howl, son of man: for it shall be upon my people, it shall be upon all the princes of Israel: terrors by reason of the sword shall be upon my people: smite therefore upon thy thigh.
12. "(21:17) Crie et gémis, fils de l`homme! Car elle est tirée contre mon peuple, Contre tous les princes d`Israël; Ils sont livrés à l`épée avec mon peuple. Frappe donc sur ta cuisse!"
12. "Mitomania sy midradradradrà ry zanak' olona fa hihatra amin' ny oloko izany, ho amin' ny lehibe rehetra amin' ny Isiraely; tahotra noho ny sabatra no hahazo ny oloko, koa misafoa sirana ianao."
13. Because it is a trial, and what if the sword contemn even the rod? it shall be no more, saith the Lord GOD.
13. "(21:18) Oui, l`épreuve sera faite; Et que sera-ce, si ce sceptre qui méprise tout est anéanti? Dit le Seigneur, l`Éternel."
13. Fa fizahan-toetra izany, ka manao ahoana, raha ilay tehim-panjakana aza no vingavingain' ny sabatra? Ho tonga tsinontsinona izy, hoy Jehovah Tompo.
14. Thou therefore, son of man, prophesy, and smite thine hands together, and let the sword be doubled the third time, the sword of the slain: it is the sword of the great men that are slain, which entereth into their privy chambers.
14. (21:19) Et toi, fils de l`homme, prophétise, Et frappe des mains! Et que les coups de l`épée soient doublés, soient triplés! C`est l`épée du carnage, l`épée du grand carnage, L`épée qui doit les poursuivre.
14. "Koa ianao, ry zanak' olona, dia maminania, ka mitehafa tanana ary aoka hamely roa heny ny sabatra amin' ny fahatelony, dia ny sabatry ny voavono; eny ny sabatry ny lehibe izay voavono ka miditra ao amin' ny efitranony manokana."
15. I have set the point of the sword against all their gates, that their heart may faint, and their ruins be multiplied: ah! it is made bright, it is wrapped up for the slaughter.
15. (21:20) Pour jeter l`effroi dans les coeurs, Pour multiplier les victimes, A toutes leurs portes je les menacerai de l`épée. Ah! elle est faite pour étinceler, Elle est aiguisée pour massacrer.
15. Nahebihebiko teny amin' ny vavahadiny rehetra ny lohan-tsabatra, mba hahakivy ny fony sy hampitombo ny faharavany.Indrisy natao manelatselatra izy sady voaranitra hamono.
16. Go thee one way or other, either on the right hand, or on the left, whithersoever thy face is set.
16. (21:21) Rassemble tes forces, tourne-toi à droite! Place-toi, tourne-toi à gauche! Dirige de tous côtés ton tranchant!
16. Mandehana amin' ny lalana iray na ny ankilany, na amin' ny ankavanana na amin' ny ankavia, na aiza na aiza tandrifinao.
17. I will also smite mine hands together, and I will cause my fury to rest: I the LORD have said it.
17. (21:22) Et moi aussi, je frapperai des mains, Et j`assouvirai ma fureur. C`est moi, l`Éternel, qui parle.
17. "Hiteha-tanana koa Aho ary hiala fo; Izaho Jehovah no nilaza izany."
18. The word of the LORD came unto me again, saying,
18. (21:23) La parole de l`Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:
18. Ary tonga tamiko indray ny tenin' i Jehovah hoe:
19. Also, thou son of man, appoint thee two ways, that the sword of the king of Babylon may come: both twain shall come forth out of one land: and choose thou a place, choose it at the head of the way to the city.
19. "(21:24) Fils de l`homme, trace deux chemins pour servir de passage à l`épée du roi de Babylone; tous les deux doivent sortir du même pays; marque un signe, marque-le à l`entrée du chemin qui conduit à une ville."
19. "Ianao koa ry zanak' olona, manaova lalana roa ho anao hiavian' ny sabatry ny mpanjakan' i Babylona; ary amin' ny tany iray no hiavian' izy roa, ary mifidiana toerana, eo an-doha-lalana mankany amin' ny tanàna no ifidiano izany."
20. Appoint a way, that the sword may come to Rabbath of the Ammonites, and to Judah in Jerusalem the defenced.
20. (21:25) Tu traceras l`un des chemins pour que l`épée arrive à Rabbath, ville des enfants d`Ammon, et l`autre pour qu`elle arrive en Juda, à Jérusalem, ville fortifiée.
20. Manaova lalana hiavian' ny sabatra ho any Raban' ny taranak' i Amona sy ho any Joda ao Jerosalema mimanda.
21. For the king of Babylon stood at the parting of the way, at the head of the two ways, to use divination: he made his arrows bright, he consulted with images, he looked in the liver.
21. "(21:26) Car le roi de Babylone se tient au carrefour, à l`entrée des deux chemins, pour tirer des présages; il secoue les flèches, il interroge les théraphim, il examine le foie."
21. "Fa ny mpanjakan' i Babylona mijanona eo amin' ny sampanan-dalana, dia eo an-dohan' ny lalana roa mba hanao sikidy; dia mampanjelanjelatra ny zana-tsipìkany izy ary manontany amin' ny terafima sy mizaha amin' ny atin-kena."
22. At his right hand was the divination for Jerusalem, to appoint captains, to open the mouth in the slaughter, to lift up the voice with shouting, to appoint battering rams against the gates, to cast a mount, and to build a fort.
22. "(21:27) Le sort, qui est dans sa droite, désigne Jérusalem, où l`on devra dresser des béliers, commander le carnage, et pousser des cris de guerre; on dressera des béliers contre les portes, on élèvera des terrasses, on formera des retranchements."
22. Mby eo an-tanany ankavanana ny sikidy ho an' i Jerosalema, mba hanendry kapiteny, hisoka-bava amin' ny famonoana, hanandram-peo amin' ny akoran' ady, hametraka lohondry vy fandravana eo akaikin' ny vavahady, hanandratra tovon-tany sy hanao fiarovana.
23. And it shall be unto them as a false divination in their sight, to them that have sworn oaths: but he will call to remembrance the iniquity, that they may be taken.
23. (21:28) Ils ne voient là que de vaines divinations, eux qui ont fait des serments. Mais lui, il se souvient de leur iniquité, en sorte qu`ils seront pris.
23. Nefa tahaka ny sikidy lainga izany eo imason' ireny, dia ireo izay efa nianiana mafy, nefa Izy no hampahatsiaro ny heloka mba hisamborana azy.
24. Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because ye have made your iniquity to be remembered, in that your transgressions are discovered, so that in all your doings your sins do appear; because, I say, that ye are come to remembrance, ye shall be taken with the hand.
24. "(21:29) C`est pourquoi ainsi parle le Seigneur, l`Éternel: Parce que vous rappelez le souvenir de votre iniquité, en mettant à nu vos transgressions, en manifestant vos péchés dans toutes vos actions; parce que vous en rappelez le souvenir, vous serez saisis par sa main."
24. Koa izao no lazain' i Jehovah Tompo: Noho ny nampahatsiarovanareo ny helokareo tamin' ny nampiharihariana ny fahadisoanareo mba hampisehoana ny fahotanareo tamin' izay rehetra nataonareo, noho ny nahatsiarovana anareo, hoy aho, dia hosamborin-tanana ianareo.
25. And thou, profane wicked prince of Israel, whose day is come, when iniquity shall have an end,
25. (21:30) Et toi, profane, méchant, prince d`Israël, dont le jour arrive au temps où l`iniquité est à son terme!
25. Ary ianao ry ilay ratsy fanahy, hamavoina, dia ny mpanjakan' ny Isiraely, izay tapitr' andro amin' ny fotoana hifaranan' ny heloka,
26. Thus saith the Lord GOD; Remove the diadem, and take off the crown: this shall not be the same: exalt him that is low, and abase him that is high.
26. (21:31) Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l`Éternel: La tiare sera ôtée, le diadème sera enlevé. Les choses vont changer. Ce qui est abaissé sera élevé, et ce qui est élevé sera abaissé.
26. Izao no lazain' i Jehovah Andriamanitra: Esory ny diadema ary alao ny satroboninahitra, tsy hitovy izany: Hasandrato ny iva, ary haetreo ny avo.
27. I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it him.
27. (21:32) J`en ferai une ruine, une ruine, une ruine. Mais cela n`aura lieu qu`à la venue de celui à qui appartient le jugement et à qui je le remettrai.
27. Havadiko, havadiko, havadiko izany: fa izany koa aza dia tsy mba haharitra mandra-pahatongan' izay tena tompony tokoa, ka homeko azy izany.
28. And thou, son of man, prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning the Ammonites, and concerning their reproach; even say thou, The sword, the sword is drawn: for the slaughter it is furbished, to consume because of the glittering:
28. (21:33) Et toi, fils de l`homme, prophétise, et dis: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l`Éternel, sur les enfants d`Ammon et sur leur opprobre. Dis: L`épée, l`épée est tirée, elle est polie, pour massacrer, pour dévorer, pour étinceler!
28. "Ary ianao, ry zanak' olona, dia maminania, ka ataovy hoe: Izao no lazain' i Jehovah Andriamanitra ny amin' ny taranak' i Amona sy ny latsa ataony, dia ataovy hoe: Indro sabatra! Dia sabatra voatsoaka! voafotsy hamono, handringana noho ny fanjelanjelany;"
29. Whiles they see vanity unto thee, whiles they divine a lie unto thee, to bring thee upon the necks of them that are slain, of the wicked, whose day is come, when their iniquity shall have an end.
29. (21:34) Au milieu de tes visions vaines et de tes oracles menteurs, elle te fera tomber parmi les cadavres des méchants, dont le jour arrive au temps où l`iniquité est à son terme.
29. Raha mahita zava-poana ho anao izy sy maminany lainga aminao, hametrahany anao ao amin' ny vozon' ny ratsy fanahy voavono, izay tapitr' andro amin' ny fotoana izay hifaranan' ny helony.
30. Shall I cause it to return into his sheath? I will judge thee in the place where thou wast created, in the land of thy nativity.
30. (21:35) Remets ton épée dans le fourreau. Je te jugerai dans le lieu où tu as été créé, dans le pays de ta naissance.
30. Hampiverenako any amin' ny tranony va izany? Any amin' ny tany namoronana anao, dia any amin' ny tany nahaterahanao no hitsarako anao.
31. And I will pour out mine indignation upon thee, I will blow against thee in the fire of my wrath, and deliver thee into the hand of brutish men, and skilful to destroy.
31. (21:36) Je répandrai sur toi ma colère, je soufflerai contre toi avec le feu de ma fureur, et je te livrerai entre les mains d`hommes qui dévorent, qui ne travaillent qu`à détruire.
31. Ary haidiko aminao ny fahavinirako, ny afon' ny fahatezerako no hotsofiko aminao, ka hatolotro eo an-tanan' ny olon-dozabe sy kinga handringana ianao.
32. Thou shalt be for fuel to the fire; thy blood shall be in the midst of the land; thou shalt be no more remembered: for I the LORD have spoken it.
32. "(21:37) Tu seras consumé par le feu; ton sang coulera au milieu du pays; on ne se souviendra plus de toi. Car moi, l`Éternel, j`ai parlé."
32. "Dia ho kitain' ny afo ianao; ho eny amin' ny tany ny ranao; tsy hotsaroana intsony ianao; fa Izaho Jehovah no niteny izany."
