2. And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favour in his sight: and the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre.

2. "Lorsque le roi vit la reine Esther debout dans la cour, elle trouva grâce à ses yeux; et le roi tendit à Esther le sceptre d`or qu`il tenait à la main. Esther s`approcha, et toucha le bout du sceptre."

2. "Ary nony hitan' ny mpanjaka, fa indro i Estera, vadin' ny mpanjaka nitsangana teo an-kianja, dia nahita fitia teo imasony izy; ary ny mpanjaka nanondro an' i Estera tamin' ny tehim-bolamena izay teny an-tanany. Dia nanatona kosa Estera ka nanendry ny loha-tehina."

3. Then said the king unto her, What wilt thou, queen Esther? and what is thy request? it shall be even given thee to the half of the kingdom.

3. Le roi lui dit: Qu`as-tu, reine Esther, et que demandes-tu? Quand ce serait la moitié du royaume, elle te serait donnée.

3. Dia hoy ny mpanjaka taminy: Inona no angatahinao, ry Estera, vadin' ny mpanjaka, ary inona no tadiavinao? Fa na dia hatramin' ny antsasaky ny fanjakana aza, dia homena anao izany.

4. And Esther answered, If it seem good unto the king, let the king and Haman come this day unto the banquet that I have prepared for him.

4. Esther répondit: Si le roi le trouve bon, que le roi vienne aujourd`hui avec Haman au festin que je lui ai préparé.

4. Dia namaly Estera ka nanao hoe: Raha sitraky ny mpanjaka, aoka ny mpanjaka sy Hamana hankao amin' ny fanasana izay efa namboariko ho azy anio.

5. Then the king said, Cause Haman to make haste, that he may do as Esther hath said. So the king and Haman came to the banquet that Esther had prepared.

5. Et le roi dit: Allez tout de suite chercher Haman, comme le désire Esther. Le roi se rendit avec Haman au festin qu`avait préparé Esther.

5. Dia hoy ny mpanjaka: Asao ho avy faingana i Hamana mba hanao araka ny tenin' i Estera. Ary ny mpanjaka sy Hamana dia nankeo amin' ny fanasana izay efa namboarin' i Estera.

6. And the king said unto Esther at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition? and it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? even to the half of the kingdom it shall be performed.

6. Et pendant qu`on buvait le vin, le roi dit à Esther: Quelle est ta demande? Elle te sera accordée. Que désires-tu? Quand ce serait la moitié du royaume, tu l`obtiendras.

6. Ary hoy ny mpanjaka tamin' i Estera teo am-pisotroan-divay: Inona no angatahinao? Fa homena anao izany. Ary inona no tadiavinao? Fa na dia hatramin' ny antsasaky ny fanjakana aza, dia homena izany.

7. Then answered Esther, and said, My petition and my request is;

7. Esther répondit: Voici ce que je demande et ce que je désire.

7. Dia namaly Estera ka nanao hoe: izao no angatahiko sy tadiaviko:Dia namaly Estera ka nanao hoe: izao no angatahiko sy tadiaviko:

8. If I have found favour in the sight of the king, and if it please the king to grant my petition, and to perform my request, let the king and Haman come to the banquet that I shall prepare for them, and I will do to morrow as the king hath said.

8. Si j`ai trouvé grâce aux yeux du roi, et s`il plaît au roi d`accorder ma demande et de satisfaire mon désir, que le roi vienne avec Haman au festin que je leur préparerai, et demain je donnerai réponse au roi selon son ordre.

8. "Raha mahita fitia eto imason' ny mpanjaka aho, ka sitraky ny mpanjaka ny hanatanteraka izay hangatahiko sy hanome izay tadiaviko dia aoka ny mpanjaka sy Hamana hankao amin' ny fanasana izay hamboariko ho azy; ary rahampitso dia hanao araka ny tenin' ny mpanjaka aho."

9. Then went Haman forth that day joyful and with a glad heart: but when Haman saw Mordecai in the king's gate, that he stood not up, nor moved for him, he was full of indignation against Mordecai.

9. Haman sortit ce jour-là, joyeux et le coeur content. Mais lorsqu`il vit, à la porte du roi, Mardochée qui ne se levait ni ne se remuait devant lui, il fut rempli de colère contre Mardochée.

9. "Dia nivoaka tamin' izany andro izany Hamana, sady faly no ravoravo fo; fa raha nahita an' i Mordekay teo am-bavahadin' ny mpanjaka izy, fa indro, tsy nitsangana, na nihetsika hitsaoka azy akory io, dia feno fahatezerana tamin' i Mordekay izy."

10. Nevertheless Haman refrained himself: and when he came home, he sent and called for his friends, and Zeresh his wife.

10. Il sut néanmoins se contenir, et il alla chez lui. Puis il envoya chercher ses amis et Zéresch, sa femme.

10. "Kanefa nanindry fo ihany Hamana; ary rehefa tonga tany an-tranony izy, dia naniraka niantso ny sakaizany sy Zaresy vadiny."

11. And Haman told them of the glory of his riches, and the multitude of his children, and all the things wherein the king had promoted him, and how he had advanced him above the princes and servants of the king.

11. Haman leur parla de la magnificence de ses richesses, du nombre de ses fils, de tout ce qu`avait fait le roi pour l`élever en dignité, et du rang qu`il lui avait donné au-dessus des chefs et des serviteurs du roi.

11. Ary nambaran' i Hamana tamin' ireo ny voninahitry ny hareny sy ny hamaroan' ny zanany mbamin' izay voninahitra rehetra nomen' ny mpanjaka azy sy ny nanandratany azy ho ambony noho ny mpanapaka sy ny mpanompon' ny mpanjaka.

12. Haman said moreover, Yea, Esther the queen did let no man come in with the king unto the banquet that she had prepared but myself; and to morrow am I invited unto her also with the king.

12. Et il ajouta: Je suis même le seul que la reine Esther ait admis avec le roi au festin qu`elle a fait, et je suis encore invité pour demain chez elle avec le roi.

12. Ary hoy koa i Hamana: Eny, Estera, vadin' ny mpanjaka aza, dia tsy namela olona niaraka tamin' ny mpanjaka tany amin' ny fanasana izay nomaniny, afa-tsy izaho ihany, ary nasainy hiaraka amin' ny mpanjaka koa aho rahampitso.

13. Yet all this availeth me nothing, so long as I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the king's gate.

13. Mais tout cela n`est d`aucun prix pour moi aussi longtemps que je verrai Mardochée, le Juif, assis à la porte du roi.

13. Nefa na dia izany rehetra izany aza, dia tsy mbola mahafa-po ahy ihany, raha mbola mahita an' i Mordekay Jiosy mipetraka eo am-bavahadin' ny mpanjaka aho.

14. Then said Zeresh his wife and all his friends unto him, Let a gallows be made of fifty cubits high, and to morrow speak thou unto the king that Mordecai may be hanged thereon: then go thou in merrily with the king unto the banquet. And the thing pleased Haman; and he caused the gallows to be made.

14. "Zéresch, sa femme, et tous ses amis lui dirent: Qu`on prépare un bois haut de cinquante coudées, et demain matin demande au roi qu`on y pende Mardochée; puis tu iras joyeux au festin avec le roi. Cet avis plut à Haman, et il fit préparer le bois."

14. "Dia hoy Zaresy vadiny sy ny sakaizany rehetra taminy: Aoka hanaovana hazo, dimampolo hakiho ny haavony, ary raha maraina dia lazao amin' ny mpanjaka mba hahantona eo i Mordekay; fa mandehana miaraka amin' ny mpanjaka amin' ny hafaliana ho any amin' ny fanasana ianao. Ary sitrak' i Hamana izany zavatra izany, ka dia nampanao ilay hazo izy."
