The Year for Canceling Debts
1. At the end of every seven years thou shalt make a release.

2. And this is the manner of the release: Every creditor that lendeth ought unto his neighbour shall release it; he shall not exact it of his neighbour, or of his brother; because it is called the LORD's release.
2. Et voici comment s`observera le relâche. Quand on aura publié le relâche en l`honneur de l`Éternel, tout créancier qui aura fait un prêt à son prochain se relâchera de son droit, il ne pressera pas son prochain et son frère pour le paiement de sa dette.
2. "Ary izao no ho fomban' ny fanafahana: Ny tompon-trosa rehetra izay nampanàna vola tamin' ny namany dia hamoy izany; tsy hanery ny namany, na ny rahalahiny handoa izy, satria efa voantso ny fanafahan' i Jehovah."
3. Of a foreigner thou mayest exact it again: but that which is thine with thy brother thine hand shall release;
3. "Tu pourras presser l`étranger; mais tu te relâcheras de ton droit pour ce qui t`appartiendra chez ton frère."
3. "Ny olona hafa firenena ihany no azonao terena handoa; fa izay anao amin' ny rahalahinao kosa dia hafoinao;"
4. Save when there shall be no poor among you; for the LORD shall greatly bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it:
4. Toutefois, il n`y aura point d`indigent chez toi, car l`Éternel te bénira dans le pays que l`Éternel, ton Dieu, te fera posséder en héritage,
4. Kanefa tsy hisy olo-mahantra eo aminareo: fa hitahy anao tokoa Jehovah eo amin' ny tany izay omen' i Jehovah Andriamanitrao ho lovanao ka ho fanananao.
5. Only if thou carefully hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all these commandments which I command thee this day.
5. pourvu seulement que tu obéisses à la voix de l`Éternel, ton Dieu, en mettant soigneusement en pratique tous ces commandements que je te prescris aujourd`hui.
5. Raha tàhiny mihaino tsara ny feon' i Jehovah Andriamanitrao ianao ka mitandrina hanaraka ireo lalàna rehetra ireo, izay andidiako anao anio.
6. For the LORD thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee.
6. "L`Éternel, ton Dieu, te bénira comme il te l`a dit, tu prêteras à beaucoup de nations, et tu n`emprunteras point; tu domineras sur beaucoup de nations, et elles ne domineront point sur toi."
6. "Fa Jehovah Andriamanitrao mitahy anao, araka izay nampanantenainy anao; ary hampisambotra ny firenena maro ianao, fa ianao kosa tsy hisambotra, ary hanjaka amin' ny firenena maro ianao, fa izy kosa tsy mba hanjaka aminao."
7. If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother:
7. S`il y a chez toi quelque indigent d`entre tes frères, dans l`une de tes portes, au pays que l`Éternel, ton Dieu, te donne, tu n`endurciras point ton coeur et tu ne fermeras point ta main devant ton frère indigent.
7. "Raha misy mahantra ny anankiray amin' ny rahalahinao ao am-bavahadinao eo amin' ny tany izay omen' i Jehovah Andriamanitrao anao, dia aza manamafy ny fonao, na manakombona ny tananao amin' ny rahalahinao mahantra;"
8. But thou shalt open thine hand wide unto him, and shalt surely lend him sufficient for his need, in that which he wanteth.
8. Mais tu lui ouvriras ta main, et tu lui prêteras de quoi pourvoir à ses besoins.
8. Fa sokafy tsara aminy ny tananao ka ampisambory mihitsy izay ilainy, araka izay mahory azy.
9. Beware that there be not a thought in thy wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and thine eye be evil against thy poor brother, and thou givest him nought; and he cry unto the LORD against thee, and it be sin unto thee.
9. Garde-toi d`être assez méchant pour dire en ton coeur: La septième année, l`année du relâche, approche! Garde-toi d`avoir un oeil sans pitié pour ton frère indigent et de lui faire un refus. Il crierait à l`Éternel contre toi, et tu te chargerais d`un péché.
9. "Mitandrema, fandrao hisy hevi-dratsy ao am-ponao manao hoe: Antomotra ny taona fahafito, dia ny taom-panafahana; ary ho ratsy fijery ny rahalahinao mahantra ianao, ka tsy hanome azy akory ianao, ary hitaraina amin' i Jehovah hiampanga anao izy ka dia ho fahotanao izany."
10. Thou shalt surely give him, and thine heart shall not be grieved when thou givest unto him: because that for this thing the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all thy works, and in all that thou puttest thine hand unto.
10. "Donne-lui, et que ton coeur ne lui donne point à regret; car, à cause de cela, l`Éternel, ton Dieu, te bénira dans tous tes travaux et dans toutes tes entreprises."
10. Omeo tokoa izy, ary aoka tsy halahelo ny fonao raha manome azy, satria izany zavatra izany no hitahian' i Jehovah Andriamanitrao anao amin' ny asanao rehetra sy amin' izay rehetra ataon' ny tananao.
11. For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land.
11. "Il y aura toujours des indigents dans le pays; c`est pourquoi je te donne ce commandement: Tu ouvriras ta main à ton frère, au pauvre et à l`indigent dans ton pays."
11. "Fa ny tany tsy ilaozan' olo-mahantra; koa izany no andidiako anao hoe: Sokafy tsara amin' ny rahalahinao ny tananao, dia amin' ny mahantranao sy ny sahirana eo amin' ny taninao."
Freeing Servants
12. And if thy brother, an Hebrew man, or an Hebrew woman, be sold unto thee, and serve thee six years; then in the seventh year thou shalt let him go free from thee.
12. "Si l`un de tes frères hébreux, homme ou femme, se vend à toi, il te servira six années; mais la septième année, tu le renverras libre de chez toi."
12. Ary raha hamidy aminao ny rahalahinao lehilahy hebreo, na vehivavy hebreo, ka efa nanompo anao enin-taona, dia hovotsoranao ho afaka izy amin' ny taona fahafito.
13. And when thou sendest him out free from thee, thou shalt not let him go away empty:
13. "Et lorsque tu le renverras libre de chez toi, tu ne le renverras point à vide;"
13. "Ary raha hovotsoranao ho afaka izy, dia tsy havelanao handeha tanam-poana;"
14. Thou shalt furnish him liberally out of thy flock, and out of thy floor, and out of thy winepress: of that wherewith the LORD thy God hath blessed thee thou shalt give unto him.
14. tu lui feras des présents de ton menu bétail, de ton aire, de ton pressoir, de ce que tu auras par la bénédiction de l`Éternel, ton Dieu.

15. And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Egypt, and the LORD thy God redeemed thee: therefore I command thee this thing to day.
15. "Tu te souviendras que tu as été esclave au pays d`Égypte, et que l`Éternel, ton Dieu, t`a racheté; c`est pourquoi je te donne aujourd`hui ce commandement."
15. "Ary tsarovy fa andevo tany amin' ny tany Egypta ianao, nefa Jehovah Andriamanitrao efa nanavotra anao; koa izany no andidiako anao izao zavatra izao anio."
16. And it shall be, if he say unto thee, I will not go away from thee; because he loveth thee and thine house, because he is well with thee;
16. Si ton esclave te dit: Je ne veux pas sortir de chez toi, -parce qu`il t`aime, toi et ta maison, et qu`il se trouve bien chez toi, -
16. Ary izao no hisy, raha hoy izy aminao: Tsy hiala aminao aho, satria tiany ianao sy ny ankohonanao, ka finaritra aminao izy,
17. Then thou shalt take an aul, and thrust it through his ear unto the door, and he shall be thy servant for ever. And also unto thy maidservant thou shalt do likewise.
17. alors tu prendras un poinçon et tu lui perceras l`oreille contre la porte, et il sera pour toujours ton esclave. Tu feras de même pour ta servante.
17. Dia halainao ny haolo, ka hotevehinao amin' ny varavarana ny sofiny, dia ho mpanomponao mandrakizay izy. Ary toy izany koa no hataonao amin' ny mpanompovavinao.
18. It shall not seem hard unto thee, when thou sendest him away free from thee; for he hath been worth a double hired servant to thee, in serving thee six years: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all that thou doest.
18. "Tu ne trouveras point dur de le renvoyer libre de chez toi, car il t`a servi six ans, ce qui vaut le double du salaire d`un mercenaire; et l`Éternel, ton Dieu, te bénira dans tout ce que tu feras."
18. "Aza ataonao ho sarotra ny hamotsotra azy ho afaka aminao, fa indroa toraka ny karaman' ny mpikarama no azonao tamin' ny nanompoany anao enin-taona; dia hitahy anao Jehovah Andriamanitrao amin' izay rehetra ataonao."
The Firstborn Animals
19. All the firstling males that come of thy herd and of thy flock thou shalt sanctify unto the LORD thy God: thou shalt do no work with the firstling of thy bullock, nor shear the firstling of thy sheep.
19. Tu consacreras à l`Éternel, ton Dieu, tout premier-né mâle qui naîtra dans ton gros et dans ton menu bétail. Tu ne travailleras point avec le premier-né de ton boeuf, et tu ne tondras point le premier-né de tes brebis.
19. "Ny lahy rehetra amin' ny voalohan-teraky ny ombinao sy ny ondry aman' osinao dia hohamasininao ho an' i Jehovah Andriamanitrao; aza mampiasa ny voalohan-teraky ny ombinao, na manety ny voalohan-teraky ny ondrinao."
20. Thou shalt eat it before the LORD thy God year by year in the place which the LORD shall choose, thou and thy household.
20. Tu le mangeras chaque année, toi et ta famille, devant l`Éternel, ton Dieu, dans le lieu qu`il choisira.
20. Eo anatrehan' i Jehovah Andriamanitrao no hihinanao sy ny ankohonanao izany isan-taona eo amin' ny toerana izay hofidin' i Jehovah.
21. And if there be any blemish therein, as if it be lame, or blind, or have any ill blemish, thou shalt not sacrifice it unto the LORD thy God.
21. S`il a quelque défaut, s`il est boiteux ou aveugle, ou s`il a quelque autre difformité, tu ne l`offriras point en sacrifice à l`Éternel, ton Dieu.
21. Fa raha misy kilema izy, na mandringa, na jamba, na izay kilema ratsy hafa akory, dia aza atolotrao ho fanatitra ho an' i Jehovah Andriamanitrao.
22. Thou shalt eat it within thy gates: the unclean and the clean person shall eat it alike, as the roebuck, and as the hart.
22. "Tu le mangeras dans tes portes; celui qui sera impur et celui qui sera pur en mangeront l`un et l`autre, comme on mange de la gazelle et du cerf."
22. Ao am-bavahadinao no hihinananao ireny: na ny olona maloto, na ny madio dia samy mahazo mihinana izany, tahaka ny ahazoany mihinana ny gazela sy ny diera.
23. Only thou shalt not eat the blood thereof; thou shalt pour it upon the ground as water.
23. "Seulement, tu n`en mangeras pas le sang; tu le répandras sur la terre comme de l`eau."
23. Fa ny rany ihany no aza hanina, fa aidino amin' ny tany toy ny rano.
