The Image of Gold and the Fiery Furnace
1. Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.
1. Le roi Nebucadnetsar fit une statue d`or, haute de soixante coudées et large de six coudées. Il la dressa dans la vallée de Dura, dans la province de Babylone.

2. Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the princes, the governors, and the captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.
2. Le roi Nebucadnetsar fit convoquer les satrapes, les intendants et les gouverneurs, les grands juges, les trésoriers, les jurisconsultes, les juges, et tous les magistrats des provinces, pour qu`ils se rendissent à la dédicace de la statue qu`avait élevée le roi Nebucadnetsar.
2. Ary Nebokadnezara mpanjaka naniraka nampamory ny solo-mpanjaka sy ny governora sy ny mpanapaka sy ny andriambaventy sy ny mpitahiry ny volam-panjakana sy ny mpahay lalàna sy ny mpitsara ary ny komandy isan-tokony mba hanamasina ilay sariolona efa natsangan' i Nebokadnezara mpanjaka.
3. Then the princes, the governors, and captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, were gathered together unto the dedication of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up; and they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up.

Alors les satrapes, les intendants et les gouverneurs, les grands juges, les trésoriers, les jurisconsultes, les juges, et tous les magistrats des provinces, s`assemblèrent pour la dédicace de la statue qu`avait élevée le roi Nebucadnetsar. Ils se placèrent devant la statue qu`avait élevée Nebucadnetsar.
3. Dia nivory hanamasina ny sariolona izay efa natsangan' i Nebokadnezara mpanjaka ny solo-mpanjaka sy ny governora sy ny andriambaventy sy ny mpitahiry ny volam-panjakana sy ny mpahay lalàna sy ny mpitsara ary ny komandy isan-tokony, ka dia nitsangana tandrifin' ny sariolona izay efa natsangan' i Nebokadnezara ireo.
4. Then an herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, O people, nations, and languages,
4. Un héraut cria à haute voix: Voici ce qu`on vous ordonne, peuples, nations, hommes de toutes langues!
4. Ary nisy mpikabary niantso mafy hoe: Izao no andidiana anareo ry vahoaka, ry firenena, ry samy hafa fiteny:
5. That at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up:
5. Au moment où vous entendrez le son de la trompette, du chalumeau, de la guitare, de la sambuque, du psaltérion, de la cornemuse, et de toutes sortes d`instruments de musique, vous vous prosternerez et vous adorerez la statue d`or qu`a élevée le roi Nebucadnetsar.
5. "Rehefa mandre ny fanenon' ny anjomara, ny sodina, ny harpa, ny samboka sy ny valiha sy ny symponia ary ny zava-maneno isan-karazany ianareo, dia miankohofa, ka mivavaha amin' ny sariolona volamena izay efa natsangan' i Nebokadnezara mpanjaka;"
6. And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.
6. Quiconque ne se prosternera pas et n`adorera pas sera jeté à l`instant même au milieu d`une fournaise ardente.
6. Ary na iza na iza no tsy miankohoka sy tsy mivavaka dia hatsipy miaraka amin' izay ho ao anatin' ny lafaoro misy afo mirehitra.
7. Therefore at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of musick, all the people, the nations, and the languages, fell down and worshipped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.

C`est pourquoi, au moment où tous les peuples entendirent le son de la trompette, du chalumeau, de la guitare, de la sambuque, du psaltérion, et de toutes sortes d`instruments de musique, tous les peuples, les nations, les hommes de toutes langues se prosternèrent et adorèrent la statue d`or qu`avait élevée le roi Nebucadnetsar.
7. Koa tamin' ny fotoana nandrenesan' ny vahoaka rehetra ny fanenon' ny anjomara sy ny sodina sy ny harpa sy ny samboka sy ny valiha ary ny zava-maneno isan-karazany, dia niankohoka sy nivavaka tamin' ny sariolona volamena izay natsangan' i Nebokadnezara mpanjaka ny vahoaka rehetra sy ny firenena ary ny samy hafa fiteny rehetra.
8. Wherefore at that time certain Chaldeans came near, and accused the Jews.
8. A cette occasion, et dans le même temps, quelques Chaldéens s`approchèrent et accusèrent les Juifs.
8. Ary tamin' izay dia nisy Kaldeana sasany nanatona ka niampanga ny Jiosy.
9. They spake and said to the king Nebuchadnezzar, O king, live for ever.
9. Ils prirent la parole et dirent au roi Nebucadnetsar: O roi, vis éternellement!
9. Dia niteny izy ka nanao tamin' i Nebokadnezara mpanjaka hoe: Ry mpanjaka ô, ho velona mandrakizay anie ianao.
10. Thou, O king, hast made a decree, that every man that shall hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, shall fall down and worship the golden image:
10. Tu as donné un ordre d`après lequel tous ceux qui entendraient le son de la trompette, du chalumeau, de la guitare, de la sambuque, du psaltérion, de la cornemuse, et de toutes sortes d`instruments, devraient se prosterner et adorer la statue d`or,
10. "Ry mpanjaka ô, ianao efa nanao lalàna fa ny olona rehetra izay handre ny fanenon' ny anjomara sy ny sodina sy ny harpa sy ny samboka sy ny valiha sy ny symponia ary ny zava-maneno isan-karazany dia hiankohoka hivavaka amin' ny sariolona volamena;"
11. And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth, that he should be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.
11. et d`après lequel quiconque ne se prosternerait pas et n`adorerait pas serait jeté au milieu d`une fournaise ardente.
11. Fa izay tsy miankohoka sy tsy mivavaka kosa dia hatsipy ao anatin' ny lafaoro misy afo mirehitra.
12. There are certain Jews whom thou hast set over the affairs of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; these men, O king, have not regarded thee: they serve not thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
12. "Or, il y a des Juifs à qui tu as remis l`intendance de la province de Babylone, Schadrac, Méschac et Abed Nego, hommes qui ne tiennent aucun compte de toi, ô roi; ils ne servent pas tes dieux, et ils n`adorent point la statue d`or que tu as élevée."
12. "Koa misy Jiosy sasany izay nataonao ho tonian' ny raharaha amin' i Babylona sy ny fehiny, dia Sadraka sy Mesaka ary Abednego; ireo lehilahy ireo tsy mba manaiky ny teninao akory, ry mpanjaka ô: tsy mba manompo ny andriamanitrao izy, na mivavaka amin' ny sariolona volamena izay efa natsanganao."
13. Then Nebuchadnezzar in his rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Then they brought these men before the king.
13. Alors Nebucadnetsar, irrité et furieux, donna l`ordre qu`on amenât Schadrac, Méschac et Abed Nego. Et ces hommes furent amenés devant le roi.
13. Dia nandidy tamin' ny fahavinirana sy ny fahatezerana Nebokadnezara, ka nasainy nalaina Sadraka sy Mesaka ary Abednego.Dia nentiny teo anatrehan' ny mpanjaka ireo lehilahy ireo.
14. Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them, Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, do not ye serve my gods, nor worship the golden image which I have set up?
14. Nebucadnetsar prit la parole et leur dit: Est-ce de propos délibéré, Schadrac, Méschac et Abed Nego, que vous ne servez pas mes dieux, et que vous n`adorez pas la statue d`or que j`ai élevée?
14. Dia niteny Nebokadnezara ka nanao taminy hoe: Marina ve, ry Sadraka sy Mesaka ary Abednego fa tsy manompo ny andriamanitro ianareo, ary tsy mivavaka amin' ny sariolona volamena izay natsangako?
15. Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made; well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands?
15. "Maintenant tenez-vous prêts, et au moment où vous entendrez le son de la trompette, du chalumeau, de la guitare, de la sambuque, du psaltérion, de la cornemuse, et de toutes sortes d`instruments, vous vous prosternerez et vous adorerez la statue que j`ai faite; si vous ne l`adorez pas, vous serez jetés à l`instant même au milieu d`une fournaise ardente. Et quel est le dieu qui vous délivrera de ma main?"
15. "Ankehitriny raha miomana ianareo amin' ny fotoana izay handrenesanareo ny fanenon' ny anjomara sy ny sodina sy ny harpa sy ny sobaba sy ny valiha sy ny symponia ary ny zava-maneno isan-karazany ka miankohoka sy mivavaka amin' ny sariolona izay nataoko dia tsara izany; fa raha tsy mety mivavaka kosa ianareo, dia hatsipy miaraka amin' izay ho ao anatin' ny lafaoro misy afo mirehitra; ary iza moa izany Andriamanitra hahavonjy anareo amin' ny tanako izany?"
16. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter.
16. Schadrac, Méschac et Abed Nego répliquèrent au roi Nebucadnetsar: Nous n`avons pas besoin de te répondre là-dessus.
16. Dia namaly Sadraka sy Mesaka ary Abednego ka nanao tamin' ny mpanjaka hoe: Ry Nebokadnezara, tsy misy antony tokony hamalianay anao akory ny amin' izany zavatra izany.
17. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
17. Voici, notre Dieu que nous servons peut nous délivrer de la fournaise ardente, et il nous délivrera de ta main, ô roi.
17. Fa raha izany no izy, Andriamanitray izay tompoinay dia mahavonjy anay amin' ny lafaoro misy afo mirehitra sady hamonjy anay amin' ny tananao, ry mpanjaka ô.
18. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
18. Simon, sache, ô roi, que nous ne servirons pas tes dieux, et que nous n`adorerons pas la statue d`or que tu as élevée.
18. Ary na dia tsy izany aza, aoka ho fantatrao, ry mpanjaka ô, fa ny andriamanitrao dia tsy hotompoinay, ary ny sariolona volamena efa natsanganao dia tsy hivavahanay.
19. Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated.
19. Sur quoi Nebucadnetsar fut rempli de fureur, et il changea de visage en tournant ses regards contre Schadrac, Méschac et Abed Nego. Il reprit la parole et ordonna de chauffer la fournaise sept fois plus qu`il ne convenait de la chauffer.
19. Dia feno fahatezerana Nebokadnezara, ka niova ny tarehiny tamin' i Sadraka sy Mesaka ary Abednego, dia niteny izy ka nasainy nafanaina ho impito mihoatra noho ny famana azy ny lafaoro.
20. And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.
20. Puis il commanda à quelques-uns des plus vigoureux soldats de son armée de lier Schadrac, Méschac et Abed Nego, et de les jeter dans la fournaise ardente.
20. Ary izay lehilahy matanjaka indrindra tamin' ny miaramilany no nasainy namatotra an' i Sadraka sy Mesaka ary Abednego sy nanipy azy tao anatin' ny lafaoro nisy afo mirehitra.
21. Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
21. Ces hommes furent liés avec leurs caleçons, leurs tuniques, leurs manteaux et leurs autres vêtements, et jetés au milieu de la fournaise ardente.
21. Dia nafatotra ireo lehilahy ireo, nefa mbola teny aminy ihany ny akanjony, ny ba-tongony, ny satrony, mbamin' ny fitafiany hafa koa, dia natsipy tao anatin' ny lafaoro misy afo mirehitra.
22. Therefore because the king's commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flame of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
22. Comme l`ordre du roi était sévère, et que la fournaise était extraordinairement chauffée, la flamme tua les hommes qui y avaient jeté Schadrac, Méschac et Abed Nego.
22. Ary satria mafy ny didin' ny mpanjaka, ka natao mahamay indrindra ny lafaoro, dia matin' ny lelafo ireny lehilahy izay nanipy an' i Sadraka sy Mesaka sy Abednego.
23. And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
23. Et ces trois hommes, Schadrac, Méschac et Abed Nego, tombèrent liés au milieu de la fournaise ardente.
23. Ary izy telo lahy ireo, Sadraka sy Mesaka sy Abednego, dia voatsipy am-patorana teo anatin' ny lafaoro nisy afo mirehitra.
24. Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king.
24. Alors le roi Nebucadnetsar fut effrayé, et se leva précipitamment. Il prit la parole, et dit à ses conseillers: N`avons-nous pas jeté au milieu du feu trois hommes liés? Ils répondirent au roi: Certainement, ô roi!
24. Dia talanjona Nebokadnezara mpanjaka ary nitsangana faingana izy ka niteny tamin' ny mpanolo-tsainy hoe: Moa tsy telo lahy mifatotra va no natsipintsika tao anatin' ny afo? Dia namaly ny mpanjaka ireo ka nanao hoe: Marina izany, ry mpanjaka ô.
25. He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.
25. "Il reprit et dit: Eh bien, je vois quatre hommes sans liens, qui marchent au milieu du feu, et qui n`ont point de mal; et la figure du quatrième ressemble à celle d`un fils des dieux."
25. "Ary namaly izy ka nanao hoe: Indro aho mahita efa-dahy tsy mifatotra, mandehandeha ao anaty afo, nefa tsy maninona tsy maninona akory izy; ary ny fijery ilay fahefatra dia toy Ilay Zanak' Andriamanitra."
26. Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came forth of the midst of the fire.
26. Ensuite Nebucadnetsar s`approcha de l`entrée de la fournaise ardente, et prenant la parole, il dit: Schadrac, Méschac et Abed Nego, serviteurs du Dieu suprême, sortez et venez! Et Schadrac, Méschac et Abed Nego sortirent du milieu du feu.
26. Dia nanatona ny varavaran' ny lafaoro nisy afo mirehitra Nebokadnezara ka niantso hoe: Ry Sadraka sy Mesaka sy Abednego, mpanompon' Andriamanitra Avo Indrindra, mivoaha, ka avia aty.Dia nivoaka avy tao anatin' ny afo Sadraka sy Mesaka ary Abednego.
27. And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king's counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.
27. "Les satrapes, les intendants, les gouverneurs, et les conseillers du roi s`assemblèrent; ils virent que le feu n`avait eu aucun pouvoir sur le corps de ces hommes, que les cheveux de leur tête n`avaient pas été brûlés, que leurs caleçons n`étaient point endommagés, et que l`odeur du feu ne les avait pas atteints."
27. Dia nifanatona ny solo-mpanjaka sy ny governora sy ny kapiteny sy ny mpanolo-tsain' ny mpanjaka ka nahita ireo lehilahy ireo, fa tsy nanan-kery hampaninona ny tenany akory ny afo na nisy singam-bolo nikainkona tamin' ny lohany, na niova ny akanjony, ary tsy nisy fofon' afo akory nandalo taminy.
28. Then Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.
28. Nebucadnetsar prit la parole et dit: Béni soit le Dieu de Schadrac, de Méschac et d`Abed Nego, lequel a envoyé son ange et délivré ses serviteurs qui ont eu confiance en lui, et qui ont violé l`ordre du roi et livré leur corps plutôt que de servir et d`adorer aucun autre dieu que leur Dieu!
28. Dia niteny Nebokadnezara ka nanao hoe: Isaorana anie Andriamanitr' i Sadraka sy Mesaka sy Abednego, Izay naniraka ny anjeliny hamonjy ny mpanompony izay natoky Azy ka nandika ny tenin' ny mpanjaka ary nanolotra ny tenany tsy hanompo na hivavaka amin' izay andriamani-kafa afa-tsy Andriamaniny ihany.
29. Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak any thing amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort.
29. Voici maintenant l`ordre que je donne: tout homme, à quelque peuple, nation ou langue qu`il appartienne, qui parlera mal du Dieu de Schadrac, de Méschac et d`Abed Nego, sera mis en pièces, et sa maison sera réduite en un tas d`immondices, parce qu`il n`y a aucun autre dieu qui puisse délivrer comme lui.
29. "Koa dia manao lalàna aho fa ny vahoaka sy ny firenena ary ny samy hafa fiteny rehetra izay manao teny tsy mety ny amin' Andriamanitr' i Sadraka sy Mesaka sy Abednego dia hotetitetehina ary hatao trano fivoahana ny tranony; fa tsy misy Andriamanitra hafa mahavonjy tahaka izao."
30. Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in the province of Babylon.
30. Après cela, le roi fit prospérer Schadrac, Méschac et Abed Nego, dans la province de Babylone.
