Witnesses Summoned Against Israel
1. Hear this word that the LORD hath spoken against you, O children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying,

2. You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.
2. "Je vous ai choisis, vous seuls parmi toutes les familles de la terre; C`est pourquoi je vous châtierai pour toutes vos iniquités."

3. Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
3. Deux hommes marchent-ils ensemble, Sans en être convenus?

4. Will a lion roar in the forest, when he hath no prey? will a young lion cry out of his den, if he have taken nothing?

5. Can a bird fall in a snare upon the earth, where no gin is for him? shall one take up a snare from the earth, and have taken nothing at all?
5. L`oiseau tombe-t-il dans le filet qui est à terre, Sans qu`il y ait un piège? Le filet s`élève-t-il de terre, Sans qu`il y ait rien de pris?
5. Voan' ny fandrika eo amin' ny tany va ny vorona raha tsy nisy tadivavarana? Hikatona va ny fandrika eo amin' ny tany, raha tsy nahavoa zavatra?
6. Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
6. Sonne-t-on de la trompette dans une ville, Sans que le peuple soit dans l`épouvante? Arrive-t-il un malheur dans une ville, Sans que l`Éternel en soit l`auteur?
6. Hotsofina ao an-tanàna va ny anjomara ka tsy hatahotra ny vahoaka? Hisy loza va ao an-tanàna, raha tsy Jehovah no nahatonga izany?
7. Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.
7. Car le Seigneur, l`Éternel, ne fait rien Sans avoir révélé son secret à ses serviteurs les prophètes.

8. The lion hath roared, who will not fear? the Lord GOD hath spoken, who can but prophesy?
8. Le lion rugit: qui ne serait effrayé? Le Seigneur, l`Éternel, parle: qui ne prophétiserait?
8. Ny liona no mierona, ka iza no tsy hatahotra? Jehovah Tompo no miteny, ka iza no tsy haminany?
9. Publish in the palaces at Ashdod, and in the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say, Assemble yourselves upon the mountains of Samaria, and behold the great tumults in the midst thereof, and the oppressed in the midst thereof.
9. Faites retentir votre voix dans les palais d`Asdod Et dans les palais du pays d`Égypte, Et dites: Rassemblez-vous sur les montagnes de Samarie, Et voyez quelle immense confusion au milieu d`elle, Quelles violences dans son sein!
9. Aelezo ao amin' ny lapa any Asdoda sy ao amin' ny lapa any amin' ny tany Egypta ka ataovy hoe: Miangòna any an-tendrombohitr' i Samaria ianareo, ary jereo ny tabataba be ao aminy sy ny ampahoriana eo aminy.
10. For they know not to do right, saith the LORD, who store up violence and robbery in their palaces.
10. Ils ne savent pas agir avec droiture, dit l`Éternel, Ils entassent dans leurs palais les produits de la violence et de la rapine.
10. Fa tsy mahalala hanao ny marina izy ireo, hoy Jehovah, dia ireo izay mitahiry fandozana sy fandrobana ao amin' ny lapany.
11. Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; An adversary there shall be even round about the land; and he shall bring down thy strength from thee, and thy palaces shall be spoiled.
11. C`est pourquoi ainsi parle le Seigneur, l`Éternel: L`ennemi investira le pays, Il détruira ta force, Et tes palais seront pillés.
11. "Koa izao no lazain' i Jehovah Andriamanitra: Hisy fahavalo hanodidina ny tany; ary hazerany ho afaka aminao ny herinao, ary hobaboina ny lapanao."
12. Thus saith the LORD; As the shepherd taketh out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear; so shall the children of Israel be taken out that dwell in Samaria in the corner of a bed, and in Damascus in a couch.
12. Ainsi parle l`Éternel: Comme le berger arrache de la gueule du lion Deux jambes ou un bout d`oreille, Ainsi se sauveront les enfants d`Israël qui sont assis dans Samarie A l`angle d`un lit et sur des tapis de damas.
12. Izao no lazain' i Jehovah: Toy ny famonjin' ny mpiandry ondry ny tongotr' ondry roa na ny sombin-tsofina eny am-bavan' ny liona, dia toy izany no ho famonjy ny zanak' Isiraely, izay mipetraka ao Samaria, eo an-jorom-parafara sy eo amin' ny lamba fandriandriana avy any Damaskosy.
13. Hear ye, and testify in the house of Jacob, saith the Lord GOD, the God of hosts,
13. Écoutez, et déclarez ceci à la maison de Jacob! Dit le Seigneur, l`Éternel, le Dieu des armées.
13. "Henoinareo, ka ambarao ao amin' ny taranak' i Jakoba, hoy Jehovah Tompo, Andriamanitry ny maro;"
14. That in the day that I shall visit the transgressions of Israel upon him I will also visit the altars of Bethel: and the horns of the altar shall be cut off, and fall to the ground.
14. "Le jour où je punirai Israël pour ses transgressions, Je frapperai sur les autels de Béthel; Les cornes de l`autel seront brisées, Et tomberont à terre."
14. "Fa amin' ny andro hamaliako ny Isiraely noho ny fandikan-dalàn' Isiraely ao aminy no hamaliako ny alitara ao Betela; dia hokapaina ny tandroky ny alitara ka hianjera amin' ny tany."
15. And I will smite the winter house with the summer house; and the houses of ivory shall perish, and the great houses shall have an end, saith the LORD.
15. "Je renverserai les maisons d`hiver et les maisons d`été; Les palais d`ivoire périront, Les maisons des grands disparaîtront, dit l`Éternel."
15. "Ary hamely ny trano ririnina sy ny trano fahavaratra Aho; ary ho rava ny trano ivory sady ho fongana ny trano lehibe, hoy Jehovah."
