The Triumphal Entry
1. And when they came nigh to Jerusalem, unto Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount of Olives, he sendeth forth two of his disciples,
1. Lorsqu`ils approchèrent de Jérusalem, et qu`ils furent près de Bethphagé et de Béthanie, vers la montagne des oliviers, Jésus envoya deux de ses disciples,
1. ARY raha nanakaiky an’i Jerosalema tao Betifaga sy Betania any an-tendrombohitra Oliva izy ireo, dia naniraka roa lahy tamin’ny mpianany Jesosy,
2. And saith unto them, Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him.
2. "en leur disant: Allez au village qui est devant vous; dès que vous y serez entrés, vous trouverez un ânon attaché, sur lequel aucun homme ne s`est encore assis; détachez-le, et amenez-le."
2. "ka nanao taminy hoe: Mankanesa amin’iroa vohitra tandrifinareo iroa; ary raha vao miditra ao ianareo, miaraka amin’izay dia hahita zana-boriky mifatotra, izay tsy mbola nitaingenan’olona; vahao izy ka ento ety."
3. And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? say ye that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither.
3. Si quelqu`un vous dit: Pourquoi faites-vous cela? répondez: Le Seigneur en a besoin. Et à l`instant il le laissera venir ici.
3. "Ary raha misy olona manao aminareo hoe: Ahoana no anaovanareo izao? dia lazao fa misy ilàn’ny Tompo azy; dia havelany hoentina aty miaraka amin’izay izy."
4. And they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door without in a place where two ways met; and they loose him.
4. les disciples, étant allés, trouvèrent l`ânon attaché dehors près d`une porte, au contour du chemin, et ils le détachèrent.
4. Dia nandeha izy ka nahita zana-boriky nifatotra teo alatrano anilan’ny varavarana, teo an-tsampanan-dalana, dia novahany izy.
5. And certain of them that stood there said unto them, What do ye, loosing the colt?
5. Quelques-uns de ceux qui étaient là leur dirent: Que faites-vous? pourquoi détachez-vous cet ânon?
5. Ary ny olona sasany teo nanao taminy hoe: Ahoana no amahanareo ny zana-boriky?
6. And they said unto them even as Jesus had commanded: and they let them go.
6. Ils répondirent comme Jésus l`avait dit. Et on les laissa aller.
6. Ary nilaza taminy izy ireo, araka izay nandidian’i Jesosy, dia navelan’ny olona handeha izy.
7. And they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast their garments on him; and he sat upon him.
7. Ils amenèrent à Jésus l`ânon, sur lequel ils jetèrent leurs vêtements, et Jésus s`assit dessus.
7. "Ary nentiny teo amin’i Jesosy ny zana-boriky, dia nataony teo amboniny ny lambany; ary Jesosy nitaingina azy."
8. And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed them in the way.
8. Beaucoup de gens étendirent leurs vêtements sur le chemin, et d`autres des branches qu`ils coupèrent dans les champs.
8. "Ary maro no namelatra ny lambany teny an-dalana; ary ny sasany nampihahaka rantsan-kazo izay efa notapahany teny an-dalana."
9. And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord:
9. Ceux qui précédaient et ceux qui suivaient Jésus criaient: Hosanna! Béni soit celui qui vient au nom du Seigneur!
9. Ary izay nandeha teo alohany sy izay nanaraka teo aoriany dia niantso sy nanao hoe: Hosana! Isaorana anie Izay avy amin’ny anaran’i Jehovah!
10. Blessed be the kingdom of our father David, that cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest.
10. Béni soit le règne qui vient, le règne de David, notre père! Hosanna dans les lieux très hauts!
10. Hotahiana anie ny fanjakana, izay avy amin’ny anaran’i Jehovah, dia ny an’i Davida raintsika! Hosana any amin’ny Avo Indrindra.
11. And Jesus entered into Jerusalem, and into the temple: and when he had looked round about upon all things, and now the eventide was come, he went out unto Bethany with the twelve.
11. Jésus entra à Jérusalem, dans le temple. Quand il eut tout considéré, comme il était déjà tard, il s`en alla à Béthanie avec les douze.
11. "Ary niditra tany Jerosalema Jesosy ka nankeo amin’ny tempoly; ary rehefa nijerijery ny zavatra rehetra Izy, sady efa hariva ny andro tamin’izay, dia niala Izy mbamin’ny roa ambin’ny folo lahy ka nankany Betania."
Jesus Clears the Temple
12. And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry:
12. Le lendemain, après qu`ils furent sortis de Béthanie, Jésus eut faim.
12. "Ary nony ampitson’iny, rehefa niala tany Betania ireo, dia noana Izy;"
13. And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.
13. "Apercevant de loin un figuier qui avait des feuilles, il alla voir s`il y trouverait quelque chose; et, s`en étant approché, il ne trouva que des feuilles, car ce n`était pas la saison des figues."
13. "Ary nahatsinjo hazo aviavimbazaha anankiray mandravina ery lavidavitra Izy, dia nankeo, fa toa hahita voany eo aminy; kanjo nony tonga teo aminy Izy, dia tsy nahita na inona na inona, afa-tsy ravina ihany; fa tsy mbola tonga ny taom-pamoazan’ny aviavimbazaha."
14. And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.
14. Prenant alors la parole, il lui dit: Que jamais personne ne mange de ton fruit! Et ses disciples l`entendirent.
14. Ary Jesosy namaly ka nanao taminy hoe: Aza misy mihinana voa avy aminao intsony mandrakizay. Ary ny mpianany nahare izany.
15. And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves;
15. "Ils arrivèrent à Jérusalem, et Jésus entra dans le temple. Il se mit à chasser ceux qui vendaient et qui achetaient dans le temple; il renversa les tables des changeurs, et les sièges des vendeurs de pigeons;"
15. "Ary tonga tany Jerosalema izy ireo; ary niditra teo amin’ny tempoly Jesosy, dia nanomboka nandroaka izay nivarotra sy izay nividy teo amin’ny tempoly sady nanjera ny latabatry ny mpanakalo vola sy ny fipetrahan’ny mpivarotra voromailala;"
16. And would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel through the temple.
16. et il ne laissait personne transporter aucun objet à travers le temple.
16. Ary tsy navelany hisy olona hitondra fanaka handeha hamaky ny tempoly.
17. And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves.
17. Et il enseignait et disait: N`est-il pas écrit: Ma maison sera appelée une maison de prière pour toutes les nations? Mais vous, vous en avez fait une caverne de voleurs.
17. "Dia nampianatra Izy ka nanao taminy hoe: Tsy voasoratra hoe va: “Ny tranoko hatao hoe trano fivavahana ho an’ny firenena rehetra?” ; fa ianareo kosa efa nanao azy ho “zohy fieren’ny jiolahy”."
18. And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine.
18. "Les principaux sacrificateurs et les scribes, l`ayant entendu, cherchèrent les moyens de le faire périr; car ils le craignaient, parce que toute la foule était frappée de sa doctrine."
18. "Ary nahare izany ny lohan’ny mpisorona mbamin’ny mpanoradalàna, ka nitady izay hamonoany Azy; saingy natahotra Azy izy, satria talanjona ny vahoaka rehetra noho ny foto-pampianarany."
19. And when even was come, he went out of the city.
19. Quand le soir fut venu, Jésus sortit de la ville.
19. Ary isan-kariva dia niala tao an-tanàna Izy.
The Withered Fig Tree
20. And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.
20. Le matin, en passant, les disciples virent le figuier séché jusqu`aux racines.
20. Ary nony maraina, raha nandalo izy ireo, dia hitany fa efa maina hatramin’ny fakany ilay hazo aviavimbazaha.
21. And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.
21. Pierre, se rappelant ce qui s`était passé, dit à Jésus: Rabbi, regarde, le figuier que tu as maudit a séché.
21. Ary Petera nahatsiahy ka nanao taminy hoe: Raby ô, indro fa efa malazo ilay hazo aviavimbazaha nozoninao.
22. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
22. Jésus prit la parole, et leur dit: Ayez foi en Dieu.
22. Ary namaly Jesosy ka nanao taminy hoe: Manàna finoana an’Andriamanitra.
23. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
23. Je vous le dis en vérité, si quelqu`un dit à cette montagne: Ote-toi de là et jette-toi dans la mer, et s`il ne doute point en son coeur, mais croit que ce qu`il dit arrive, il le verra s`accomplir.
23. Lazaiko marina aminareo: Na zovy na zovy no hilaza amin’ity tendrombohitra ity hoe: Mifindrà, ka mianjerà any an-dranomasina, ka tsy misalasala ao am-pony, fa hino, fa ho tonga ny zavatra lazainy, dia ho azony izay rehetra lazainy.
24. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
24. C`est pourquoi je vous dis: Tout ce que vous demanderez en priant, croyez que vous l`avez reçu, et vous le verrez s`accomplir.
24. Koa lazaiko aminareo: Na inona na inona irinareo, rehefa mivavaka ianareo, dia minoa fa efa nandray izany ianareo, dia ho azonareo izany.
25. And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
25. Et, lorsque vous êtes debout faisant votre prière, si vous avez quelque chose contre quelqu`un, pardonnez, afin que votre Père qui est dans les cieux vous pardonne aussi vos offenses.
25. Ary raha mitsangana mivavaka ianareo, ka misy olona anananareo alahelo, dia mamelà ny helony, mba havelan’ny Rainareo Izay any an-danitra kosa ny helokareo.
26. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
26. Mais si vous ne pardonnez pas, votre Père qui est dans les cieux ne vous pardonnera pas non plus vos offenses.
26. Fa raha tsy mamela heloka ianareo, ny Rainareo Izay any an-danitra kosa tsy hamela ny helokareo.
The Authority of Jesus Questioned
27. And they come again to Jerusalem: and as he was walking in the temple, there come to him the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders,
27. Ils se rendirent de nouveau à Jérusalem, et, pendant que Jésus se promenait dans le temple, les principaux sacrificateurs, les scribes et les anciens, vinrent à lui,
27. "Ary tonga tany Jerosalema indray izy ireo; ary raha nandeha teo amin’ny tempoly Jesosy dia nanatona Azy ny lohan’ny mpisorona sy ny mpanoradalàna ary ny loholona,"
28. And say unto him, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority to do these things?
28. et lui dirent: Par quelle autorité fais-tu ces choses, et qui t`a donné l`autorité de les faire?
28. Ka nanao taminy hoe: Fahefana manao ahoana no anaovanao izao zavatra izao? Ary iza no nanome Anao izany fahefana izany hanaovana izao zavatra izao?
29. And Jesus answered and said unto them, I will also ask of you one question, and answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.
29. "Jésus leur répondit: Je vous adresserai aussi une question; répondez-moi, et je vous dirai par quelle autorité je fais ces choses."
29. "Ary Jesosy namaly ka nanao taminy hoe: Hanontany anareo zavatra iray loha kosa Aho, ka valio Aho; ary dia holazaiko aminareo izay fahefana anaovako izao zavatra izao:"
30. The baptism of John, was it from heaven, or of men? answer me.
30. Le baptême de Jean venait-il du ciel, ou des hommes? Répondez-moi.
30. Ny batisan’i Jaona, avy tany an-danitra va, sa avy tamin’ny olona? Valio Aho.
31. And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then did ye not believe him?
31. Mais ils raisonnèrent ainsi entre eux: Si nous répondons: Du ciel, il dira: Pourquoi donc n`avez-vous pas cru en lui?
31. Ary niara-nisaina izy ireo ka nanao hoe: Raha holazaintsika hoe mantsy: Avy tany an-danitra, dia hataony hoe: Nahoana àry no tsy nino azy ianareo?
32. But if we shall say, Of men; they feared the people: for all men counted John, that he was a prophet indeed.
32. Et si nous répondons: Des hommes... Ils craignaient le peuple, car tous tenaient réellement Jean pour un prophète.
32. Fa raha holazaintsika kosa hoe: Avy tamin’ny olona, natahotra ny olona izy ireo, satria neken’ny olona rehetra fa mpaminany tokoa Jaona.
33. And they answered and said unto Jesus, We cannot tell. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.
33. Alors ils répondirent à Jésus: Nous ne savons. Et Jésus leur dit: Moi non plus, je ne vous dirai pas par quelle autorité je fais ces choses.
33. Dia namaly an’i Jesosy izy ireo ka nanao hoe: tsy afaka hilaza izahay. Ary Jesosy namaly ka nanao taminy hoe: Izaho kosa tsy hilaza aminareo izay fahefana anaovako izao zavatra izao.
