Judgment on Jerusalem and Judah
1. For, behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, doth take away from Jerusalem and from Judah the stay and the staff, the whole stay of bread, and the whole stay of water.

2. The mighty man, and the man of war, the judge, and the prophet, and the prudent, and the ancient,
2. Le héros et l`homme de guerre, Le juge et le prophète, le devin et l`ancien,
2. Ny lehilahy mahery sy ny mpiady, ny mpitsara sy ny mpaminany, ny mpanao fankatovana sy ny loholona,
3. The captain of fifty, and the honourable man, and the counsellor, and the cunning artificer, and the eloquent orator.
3. Le chef de cinquante et le magistrat, Le conseiller, l`artisan distingué et l`habile enchanteur.

4. And I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them.
4. Je leur donnerai des jeunes gens pour chefs, Et des enfants domineront sur eux.

5. And the people shall be oppressed, every one by another, and every one by his neighbour: the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honourable.
5. "Il y aura réciprocité d`oppression parmi le peuple; L`un opprimera l`autre, chacun son prochain; Le jeune homme attaquera le vieillard, Et l`homme de rien celui qui est honoré."

6. When a man shall take hold of his brother of the house of his father, saying, Thou hast clothing, be thou our ruler, and let this ruin be under thy hand:
6. On ira jusqu`à saisir son frère dans la maison paternelle: Tu as un habit, sois notre chef! Prends ces ruines sous ta main! -

7. In that day shall he swear, saying, I will not be an healer; for in my house is neither bread nor clothing: make me not a ruler of the people.
7. "Ce jour-là même il répondra: Je ne saurais être un médecin, Et dans ma maison il n`y a ni pain ni vêtement; Ne m`établissez pas chef du peuple!"
7. "Amin' izany andro izany dia hianiana izy ka hanao hoe: Tsy mety ho dokotera aho, fa ao an-tranoko tsy misy hanina, na lamba; koa aza manao ahy ho mpanapaka ny olona."
8. For Jerusalem is ruined, and Judah is fallen: because their tongue and their doings are against the LORD, to provoke the eyes of his glory.
8. Jérusalem chancelle, Et Juda s`écroule, Parce que leurs paroles et leurs oeuvres sont contre l`Éternel, Bravant les regards de sa majesté.

9. The shew of their countenance doth witness against them; and they declare their sin as Sodom, they hide it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have rewarded evil unto themselves.
9. L`aspect de leur visage témoigne contre eux, Et, comme Sodome, ils publient leur crime, sans dissimuler. Malheur à leur âme! Car ils se préparent des maux.
9. "Ny fisehon' ny tarehiny miampanga azy; ary mampiharihary ny fahotany tahaka an' i Sodoma izy ka tsy manafina izany. Loza ho an' ny fanahiny! fa mampidi-doza amin' ny tenany izy."
10. Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.
10. Dites que le juste prospérera, Car il jouira du fruit de ses oeuvres.
10. Lazaonareo amin' ny marina fa hahita soa izy, fa ny vokatry ny asany no hohaniny.
11. Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.
11. Malheur au méchant! il sera dans l`infortune, Car il recueillera le produit de ses mains.
11. Loza ho an' ny ratsy fanahy! Hiharan' ny ratsy izy, satria ny valin' ny nataony no hanody azy.
12. As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.
12. "Mon peuple a pour oppresseurs des enfants, Et des femmes dominent sur lui; Mon peuple, ceux qui te conduisent t`égarent, Et ils corrompent la voie dans laquelle tu marches."

13. The LORD standeth up to plead, and standeth to judge the people.
13. L`Éternel se présente pour plaider, Il est debout pour juger les peuples.

14. The LORD will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people, and the princes thereof: for ye have eaten up the vineyard; the spoil of the poor is in your houses.
14. L`Éternel entre en jugement Avec les anciens de son peuple et avec ses chefs: Vous avez brouté la vigne! La dépouille du pauvre est dans vos maisons!
14. "Hitsara ny loholona amin' ny olony sy ny mpanapaka azy Jehovah; fa efa nandevona ny tanimboaloboka ianareo; ao an-tranonareo ny fananan' ny mahantra izay efa nalainareo an-keriny."
15. What mean ye that ye beat my people to pieces, and grind the faces of the poor? saith the Lord GOD of hosts.
15. De quel droit foulez-vous mon peuple, Et écrasez-vous la face des pauvres? Dit le Seigneur, l`Éternel des armées.
15. Ahoana no hevitrareo no dia hosihosenareo ny oloko, ary torotoroinareo ny tavan' ny mahantra? hoy Jehovah An-driamanitry ny maro.
16. Moreover the LORD saith, Because the daughters of Zion are haughty, and walk with stretched forth necks and wanton eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:
16. L`Éternel dit: Parce que les filles de Sion sont orgueilleuses, Et qu`elles marchent le cou tendu Et les regards effrontés, Parce qu`elles vont à petits pas, Et qu`elles font résonner les boucles de leurs pieds,
16. Ary hoy koa Jehovah: Satria miavonavona ireo zanakavavin' i Ziona ka mandeha mianjonanjona sy manao maso meloka sady kasikasy fandeha ary mampikorintsandrintsana ny fehintongony,
17. Therefore the LORD will smite with a scab the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the LORD will discover their secret parts.
17. Le Seigneur rendra chauve le sommet de la tête des filles de Sion, L`Éternel découvrira leur nudité.
17. Noho izany dia hataon' ny Tompo feno takopery ny tampon-dohan' ny zanakavavin' i Ziona, ary Jehovah hampiseho ny fitanjahany.
18. In that day the Lord will take away the bravery of their tinkling ornaments about their feet, and their cauls, and their round tires like the moon,
18. "En ce jour, le Seigneur ôtera les boucles qui servent d`ornement à leurs pieds, Et les filets et les croissants;"
18. Amin' izany andro izany dia hoesorin' i Jehovah ny firavaka rehetra, na ny fehintongony, na ny fehiloha, na ny sarim-bolan-tsinana,
19. The chains, and the bracelets, and the mufflers,
19. "Les pendants d`oreilles, les bracelets et les voiles;"
19. Ny kavina voavola, ny haba, ny fisalobonana makarakara,
20. The bonnets, and the ornaments of the legs, and the headbands, and the tablets, and the earrings,
20. "Les diadèmes, les chaînettes des pieds et les ceintures, Les boîtes de senteur et les amulettes;"
20. Ny satroka, ny haingo amin' ny tongotra, sy ny fehiloha, sy ny fitoeran-dranomanitra ary ny kavin-tsofina,
21. The rings, and nose jewels,
21. "Les bagues et les anneaux du nez;"
21. Ny peratra sy ny kavin' orona,
22. The changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the wimples, and the crisping pins,
22. "Les vêtements précieux et les larges tuniques, Les manteaux et les gibecières;"
22. Ny akanjo fihaingoana miovaova sy ny saly sy ny voaly ary ny poketra,
23. The glasses, and the fine linen, and the hoods, and the vails.
23. Les miroirs et les chemises fines, Les turbans et les surtouts légers.
23. "Ny fitaratra fizahana sy ny akanjo somizo, ny satroka tiara ary ny lamba fisaronana;"
24. And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be stink; and instead of a girdle a rent; and instead of well set hair baldness; and instead of a stomacher a girding of sackcloth; and burning instead of beauty.
24. "Au lieu de parfum, il y aura de l`infection; Au lieu de ceinture, une corde; Au lieu de cheveux bouclés, une tête chauve; Au lieu d`un large manteau, un sac étroit; Une marque flétrissante, au lieu de beauté."
24. "Ary izao no hiseho: ny manitra hosoloana ny maimbo, ary ny fehikibo tsara hosoloana ny mahazaka; ary ny volo voavoatra tsara hosoloana ny solaina; ary ny akanjo miebanebana hosoloana ny lamba fisaonana; ary ny hatsaran-tarehy hosoloana amin' ny tomboka amin' ny vy mahamay."
25. Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty in the war.
25. Tes hommes tomberont sous le glaive, Et tes héros dans le combat.
25. Ny lehilahy ao aminao ho lavon-tsabatra, ary ny mahery ao aminao ho faty an' ady.
26. And her gates shall lament and mourn; and she being desolate shall sit upon the ground.
26. "Les portes de Sion gémiront et seront dans le deuil; Dépouillée, elle s`assiéra par terre."
