A Prophecy Against Tyre
1. And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first day of the month, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
1. La onzième année, le premier jour du mois, la parole de l`Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:
1. Ary izao no niseho, tamin' ny andro voalohany amin' ny volana tamin' ny taona fahiraika ambin' ny folo dia tonga tamiko ny tenin' i Jehovah nanao hoe:
2. Son of man, because that Tyrus hath said against Jerusalem, Aha, she is broken that was the gates of the people: she is turned unto me: I shall be replenished, now she is laid waste:
2. Fils de l`homme, parce que Tyr a dit sur Jérusalem: Ah! ah! Elle est brisée, la porte des peuples! On se tourne vers moi, Je me remplirai, elle est déserte!
2. Ry zanak' olona, noho ny nandatsan' i Tyro an' i Jerosalema hoe: hia! sakoa izay! rava ilay vavahadin' ny firenena! Mba hifindra amiko kosa izao, ka ho feno aho, fa izy kosa ho foana,
3. Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Tyrus, and will cause many nations to come up against thee, as the sea causeth his waves to come up.
3. A cause de cela, ainsi parle le Seigneur, l`Éternel: Voici, j`en veux à toi, Tyr! Je ferai monter contre toi des nations nombreuses, Comme la mer fait monter ses flots.
3. Dia izao no lazain' i Jehovah Andriamanitra: indro, hamely anao Aho, ry Tyro, ka hampiakatra ny firenena maro hiady aminao, tahaka ny fampiakatry ny ranomasina ny onjany.
4. And they shall destroy the walls of Tyrus, and break down her towers: I will also scrape her dust from her, and make her like the top of a rock.
4. "Elles détruiront les murs de Tyr, Elles abattront ses tours, Et j`en raclerai la poussière; Je ferai d`elle un rocher nu;"
4. "Ary horavan' ireo ny mandan' i Tyro, sady harodany ny tilikambony; dia hofafako hiala aminy koa ny vovo-taniny ka hataoko tahaka ny vatolampy mangadihady izy."
5. It shall be a place for the spreading of nets in the midst of the sea: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD: and it shall become a spoil to the nations.
5. "Elle sera dans la mer un lieu où l`on étendra les filets; Car j`ai parlé, dit le Seigneur, l`Éternel. Elle sera la proie des nations."
5. "Ho famelarana harato eo amin' ny ranomasina izy; fa Izaho no niteny izany, hoy Jehovah Andriamanitra, ka dia ho babon' ny firenena izy."
6. And her daughters which are in the field shall be slain by the sword; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
6. Ses filles sur son territoire Seront tuées par l`épée. Et ils sauront que je suis l`Éternel.
6. "Ary ny zanany vavy eny an-tsaha dia hovonoina amin' ny sabatra; ka dia ho fantany fa Izaho no Jehovah."
7. For thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will bring upon Tyrus Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, a king of kings, from the north, with horses, and with chariots, and with horsemen, and companies, and much people.
7. Car ainsi parle le Seigneur, l`Éternel: Voici, j`amène du septentrion contre Tyr Nebucadnetsar, roi de Babylone, le roi des rois, avec des chevaux, des chars, des cavaliers, et une grande multitude de peuples.
7. Fa izao no lazain' i Jehovah Andriamanitra: indro, hoentiko avy any avaratra ho any Tyro Nebokadnezara, mpanjakan' i Babylona, mpanjakan' ny mpanjaka, mitondra soavaly sy kalesy sy mpitaingin-tsoavaly sy antokony maro ary vahoaka betsaka.
8. He shall slay with the sword thy daughters in the field: and he shall make a fort against thee, and cast a mount against thee, and lift up the buckler against thee.
8. "Il tuera par l`épée tes filles sur ton territoire; il fera contre toi des retranchements, il élèvera contre toi des terrasses, et il dressera contre toi le bouclier."
8. "Ny zanakao vavy any an-tsaha dia hovonoiny amin' ny sabatra; ary hanandratra tilikambo sy tovon-tany hamelezana anao izy sady hanangana ampinga lehibe hamelezana anao."
9. And he shall set engines of war against thy walls, and with his axes he shall break down thy towers.
9. Il dirigera les coups de son bélier contre tes murs, et il renversera tes tours avec ses machines.
9. Ary hametraka fitaovam-piadiana eo akaikin' ny mandanao izy sady horavany amin' ny famakiny ny tilikambonao.
10. By reason of the abundance of his horses their dust shall cover thee: thy walls shall shake at the noise of the horsemen, and of the wheels, and of the chariots, when he shall enter into thy gates, as men enter into a city wherein is made a breach.
10. "La multitude de ses chevaux te couvrira de poussière; tes murs trembleront au bruit des cavaliers, des roues et des chars, lorsqu`il entrera dans tes portes comme on entre dans une ville conquise."
10. "Ho feno ny vovo-taniny ianao noho ny habetsahan' ny soavaliny; hihorohoro ny mandanao noho ny fikorodondrodon' ny mpitaingin-tsoavaly sy ny kodia sy ny kalesy, raha hiditra eo amin' ny vavahadinao tahaka ny olona miditra amin' ny tanàna izay voabanga izy."
11. With the hoofs of his horses shall he tread down all thy streets: he shall slay thy people by the sword, and thy strong garrisons shall go down to the ground.
11. Il foulera toutes tes rues avec les sabots de ses chevaux, il tuera ton peuple par l`épée, et les monuments de ton orgueil tomberont à terre.
11. "Ny kitron-tsoavaliny no hanitsakitsahany ny lalambenao rehetra; ny olonao dia hovonoiny amin' ny sabatra ary ny tanànanao misy miaramila mahery mpiandry dia hianjera amin' ny tany."
12. And they shall make a spoil of thy riches, and make a prey of thy merchandise: and they shall break down thy walls, and destroy thy pleasant houses: and they shall lay thy stones and thy timber and thy dust in the midst of the water.
12. On enlèvera tes richesses, on pillera tes marchandises, on abattra tes murs, on renversera tes maisons de plaisance, et l`on jettera au milieu des eaux tes pierres, ton bois, et ta poussière.
12. "Hobaboiny ny harenao, horobainy ny rantonao, harodany ny mandanao, horavany ny tranonao mahafinaritra; ary ny vatonao sy ny hazonao sy ny vovokao dia hataony any amin' ny rano."
13. And I will cause the noise of thy songs to cease; and the sound of thy harps shall be no more heard.
13. Je ferai cesser le bruit de tes chants, et l`on n`entendra plus le son de tes harpes.
13. Ary hatsahatro ny tabataban' ny hiranao sady tsy ho re intsony ny fanenon' ny harpanao.
14. And I will make thee like the top of a rock: thou shalt be a place to spread nets upon; thou shalt be built no more: for I the LORD have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.
14. "Je ferai de toi un rocher nu; tu seras un lieu où l`on étendra les filets; tu ne seras plus rebâtie. Car moi, l`Éternel, j`ai parlé, dit le Seigneur, l`Éternel."
14. "Dia hataoko toy ny tampon' ny vatolampy ianao ka ho famelarana harato sady tsy haorina intsony; fa Izaho Jehovah no niteny izany, hoy Jehovah Andriamanitra."
15. Thus saith the Lord GOD to Tyrus; Shall not the isles shake at the sound of thy fall, when the wounded cry, when the slaughter is made in the midst of thee?
15. Ainsi parle à Tyr le Seigneur, l`Éternel: Au bruit de ta chute, Quand les mourants gémissent, Quand le carnage est dans ton sein, Les îles tremblent.
15. Izao no lazain' i Jehovah Tompo amin' i Tyro: tsy hihorohoro va ny nosy noho ny fikotrokotroky ny firodananao, raha mitrona ny maratra, raha misy famonoana eo afovoanao?
16. Then all the princes of the sea shall come down from their thrones, and lay away their robes, and put off their broidered garments: they shall clothe themselves with trembling; they shall sit upon the ground, and shall tremble at every moment, and be astonished at thee.
16. "Tous les princes de la mer descendent de leurs trônes, Ils ôtent leurs manteaux, Et quittent leurs vêtements brodés; Ils s`enveloppent de frayeur, et s`asseyent sur la terre; A chaque instant l`épouvante les saisit, Et ils sont consternés à cause de toi."
16. "Dia hidina hiala amin' ny sezafiandrianany ireo andrianan' ny ranomasina rehetra ka hiala akanjo sy hanaisotra ny fitafiany misoratsoratra; hovitra no hitafiany ka hipetraka amin' ny tany izy; ary hangovitra isaky ny indray mipì-maso izy ka ho gaga anao."
17. And they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and say to thee, How art thou destroyed, that wast inhabited of seafaring men, the renowned city, which wast strong in the sea, she and her inhabitants, which cause their terror to be on all that haunt it!
17. Ils prononcent sur toi une complainte, et te disent: Eh quoi! tu es détruite, Toi que peuplaient ceux qui parcourent les mers, Ville célèbre, qui étais puissante sur la mer! Elle est détruite avec ses habitants, Qui inspiraient la terreur à tous ceux d`alentour!
17. "Ary hanao hira fahalahelovana ny aminao izy ka hanao aminao hoe; Indrisy! rava ianao, ry ilay nonenan' ny avy any an-dranomasina! Dia ilay tanàna malaza izay nahery teo amin' ny ranomasina, dia izy mbamin' ny mponina ao izay nampahatahotra ny mponina rehetra eo aminy!"
18. Now shall the isles tremble in the day of thy fall; yea, the isles that are in the sea shall be troubled at thy departure.
18. Maintenant les îles tremblent au jour de ta chute, Les îles de la mer sont épouvantées de ta fin.
18. "Ankehitriny dia ho raiki-tahotra ny nosy amin' ny andro hianjeranao; eny, ho toran-kovitra ny nosy any an-dranomasina noho ny faharavanao."
19. For thus saith the Lord GOD; When I shall make thee a desolate city, like the cities that are not inhabited; when I shall bring up the deep upon thee, and great waters shall cover thee;
19. Car ainsi parle le Seigneur, l`Éternel: Quand je ferai de toi une ville déserte, Comme les villes qui n`ont point d`habitants, Quand je ferai monter contre toi l`abîme, Et que les grandes eaux te couvriront,
19. Fa izao no lazain' i Jehovah Andriamanitra: raha hataoko tanàna lao tahaka ireo tanàna aolo ianao ary hampiakariko aminao ny rano lalina ka hosaronan' ny rano be ianao,
20. When I shall bring thee down with them that descend into the pit, with the people of old time, and shall set thee in the low parts of the earth, in places desolate of old, with them that go down to the pit, that thou be not inhabited; and I shall set glory in the land of the living;
20. "Je te précipiterai avec ceux qui sont descendus dans la fosse, Vers le peuple d`autrefois, Je te placerai dans les profondeurs de la terre, Dans les solitudes éternelles, Près de ceux qui sont descendus dans la fosse, Afin que tu ne sois plus habitée; Et je réserverai la gloire pour le pays des vivants."
20. "Raha hampidiniko hiaraka amin' izay mivarina any an-davaka ianao, hankany amin' ny olona fahiny ka hamponeniko any ambanin' ny fanambanin' ny tany ianao, dia any amin' ny fonenana efa lao hatramin' ny ela, hiaraka amin' izay mivarina any an-davaka, mba tsy honenana intsony; ary hasiako voninahitra eo amin' ny tanin' ny velona,"
21. I will make thee a terror, and thou shalt be no more: though thou be sought for, yet shalt thou never be found again, saith the Lord GOD.
21. "Je te réduirai au néant, et tu ne seras plus; On te cherchera, et l`on ne te trouvera plus jamais, Dit le Seigneur, l`Éternel."
21. "Dia hataoko fampitahorana ianao, ka tsy ho eo intsony; eny, na dia hotadiaviana aza ianao, dia tsy ho hita intsony mandrakizay, hoy Jehovah Andriamanitra."
