The Exile Symbolized
1. The word of the LORD also came unto me, saying,
1. La parole de l`Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:

2. Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of a rebellious house, which have eyes to see, and see not; they have ears to hear, and hear not: for they are a rebellious house.
2. "Fils de l`homme, tu habites au milieu d`une famille de rebelles, qui ont des yeux pour voir et qui ne voient point, des oreilles pour entendre et qui n`entendent point; car c`est une famille de rebelles."
2. "Ry zanak' olona, ianao dia monina eto amin' ny taranaka maditra, izay mana-maso hahitana nefa tsy mahita, ary manan-tsofina handrenesana nefa tsy mandre; fa taranaka maditra izy."
3. Therefore, thou son of man, prepare thee stuff for removing, and remove by day in their sight; and thou shalt remove from thy place to another place in their sight: it may be they will consider, though they be a rebellious house.
3. Et toi, fils de l`homme, prépare tes effets de voyage, et pars de jour, sous leurs yeux! Pars, en leur présence, du lieu où tu es pour un autre lieu: peut-être verront-ils qu`ils sont une famille de rebelles.
3. "Koa ianao ry zanak' olona, mifeheza entana handeha hifindra, ka miaingà antoandro eo imasony; ary hiala eo imasony eo amin' izay itoeranao ianao ho any amin' ny fitoerana hafa; angamba mba hihevitra izy na dia taranaka maditra aza."
4. Then shalt thou bring forth thy stuff by day in their sight, as stuff for removing: and thou shalt go forth at even in their sight, as they that go forth into captivity.
4. "Sors tes effets comme des effets de voyage, de jour sous leurs yeux; et toi, pars le soir, en leur présence, comme partent des exilés."

6. In their sight shalt thou bear it upon thy shoulders, and carry it forth in the twilight: thou shalt cover thy face, that thou see not the ground: for I have set thee for a sign unto the house of Israel.

7. And I did so as I was commanded: I brought forth my stuff by day, as stuff for captivity, and in the even I digged through the wall with mine hand; I brought it forth in the twilight, and I bare it upon my shoulder in their sight.
7. Je fis ce qui m`avait été ordonné: je sortis de jour mes effets comme des effets de voyage, le soir je perçai la muraille avec la main, et je les sortis pendant l`obscurité et les mis sur mon épaule, en leur présence.

8. And in the morning came the word of the LORD unto me, saying,
8. Le matin, la parole de l`Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:
8. Ary nony maraina dia tonga tamiko ny tenin' i Jehovah nanao hoe:
9. Son of man, hath not the house of Israel, the rebellious house, said unto thee, What doest thou?
9. Fils de l`homme, la maison d`Israël, cette famille de rebelles ne t`a-t-elle pas dit: Que fais-tu?
9. Ry zanak' olona, moa ny taranak' Isiraely izay taranaka maditra, tsy manontany aminao hoe va: Inona izao ataonao izao?
10. Say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; This burden concerneth the prince in Jerusalem, and all the house of Israel that are among them.
10. Dis-leur: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l`Éternel: Cet oracle concerne le prince qui est à Jérusalem, et toute la maison d`Israël qui s`y trouve.
10. Ambarao aminy hoe: Izao no lazain' i Jehovah Tompo: Ity faminaniana ny loza ity dia mikasika ny mpanapaka any Jerosalema sy ny taranak' Isiraely rehetra izay ao aminy.
11. Say, I am your sign: like as I have done, so shall it be done unto them: they shall remove and go into captivity.
11. Dis: Je suis pour vous un signe. Ce que j`ai fait, c`est ce qui leur sera fait: Ils iront en exil, en captivité.
11. "Lazao hoe: Izaho dia famantarana ho anareo, koa tahaka izay ataoko no hatao amin' ireo; hifindra sy ho lasan-ko babo izy."
12. And the prince that is among them shall bear upon his shoulder in the twilight, and shall go forth: they shall dig through the wall to carry out thereby: he shall cover his face, that he see not the ground with his eyes.
12. "Le prince qui est au milieu d`eux Mettra son bagage sur l`épaule pendant l`obscurité et partira; On percera la muraille pour le faire sortir; Il se couvrira le visage, Pour que ses yeux ne regardent pas la terre."

13. My net also will I spread upon him, and he shall be taken in my snare: and I will bring him to Babylon to the land of the Chaldeans; yet shall he not see it, though he shall die there.
13. "J`étendrai mon rets sur lui, Et il sera pris dans mon filet; Je l`emmènerai à Babylone, dans le pays des Chaldéens; Mais il ne le verra pas, et il y mourra."

14. And I will scatter toward every wind all that are about him to help him, and all his bands; and I will draw out the sword after them.
14. Tous ceux qui l`entourent et lui sont en aide, Et toutes ses troupes, je les disperserai à tous les vents, Et je tirerai l`épée derrière eux.

15. And they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall scatter them among the nations, and disperse them in the countries.

16. But I will leave a few men of them from the sword, from the famine, and from the pestilence; that they may declare all their abominations among the heathen whither they come; and they shall know that I am the LORD.

17. Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
17. La parole de l`Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:

18. Son of man, eat thy bread with quaking, and drink thy water with trembling and with carefulness;
18. Fils de l`homme, tu mangeras ton pain avec tremblement, Tu boiras ton eau avec inquiétude et angoisse.
18. Ry zanak' olona, hano amin-korohoro ny haninao ary sotroy amin-kovitra sy amin' ahiahy ny ranonao.
19. And say unto the people of the land, Thus saith the Lord GOD of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and of the land of Israel; They shall eat their bread with carefulness, and drink their water with astonishment, that her land may be desolate from all that is therein, because of the violence of all them that dwell therein.
19. "Dis au peuple du pays: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l`Éternel, Sur les habitants de Jérusalem dans la terre d`Israël! Ils mangeront leur pain avec angoisse, Et ils boiront leur eau avec épouvante; Car leur pays sera dépouillé de tout ce qu`il contient, A cause de la violence de tous ceux qui l`habitent."
19. Ary lazao amin' ny mponina amin' ny tany hoe: Izao no lazain' i Jehovah Andriamanitry ny mponin' i Jerosalema sy ny tanin' ny Isiraely: Amin' ny ahiahy no hihinanany ny haniny, ary amim-pahatalanjonana no hisotroany ny ranony, mba ho lao mihitsy ny taniny, ka tsy hisy na inona na inona ao, noho ny fandozan' izay rehetra monina ao aminy.
20. And the cities that are inhabited shall be laid waste, and the land shall be desolate; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
20. Les villes peuplées seront détruites, Et le pays sera ravagé. Et vous saurez que je suis l`Éternel.

21. And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

22. Son of man, what is that proverb that ye have in the land of Israel, saying, The days are prolonged, and every vision faileth?
22. Fils de l`homme, que signifient ces discours moqueurs Que vous tenez dans le pays d`Israël: Les jours se prolongent, Et toutes les visions restent sans effet?
22. Ry zanak' olona, inona moa izao ohabolana anananareo ao amin' ny tanin' ny Isiraely izao hoe: Mihaela ny andro, ary tonga tsinontsinona ny fahitana rehetra?
23. Tell them therefore, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will make this proverb to cease, and they shall no more use it as a proverb in Israel; but say unto them, The days are at hand, and the effect of every vision.
23. "C`est pourquoi dis-leur: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l`Éternel: Je ferai cesser ces discours moqueurs; On ne les tiendra plus en Israël. Dis-leur, au contraire: Les jours approchent, Et toutes les visions s`accompliront."
23. "Koa lazao aminy hoe: Izao no lazain' i Jehovah Andriamanitra: Hatsahatro izany ohabolana izany, ka tsy hampiasaina ho ohabolana ao amin' ny Isiraely intsony; fa lazao aminy kosa hoe: Akaiky ny andro, sy ny fahatanterahan' ny fahitana rehetra."
24. For there shall be no more any vain vision nor flattering divination within the house of Israel.
24. Car il n`y aura plus de visions vaines, Ni d`oracles trompeurs, Au milieu de la maison d`Israël.

25. For I am the LORD: I will speak, and the word that I shall speak shall come to pass; it shall be no more prolonged: for in your days, O rebellious house, will I say the word, and will perform it, saith the Lord GOD.
25. "Car moi, l`Éternel, je parlerai; Ce que je dirai s`accomplira, Et ne sera plus différé; Oui, de vos jours, famille de rebelles, Je prononcerai une parole et je l`accomplirai, Dit le Seigneur, l`Éternel."
25. "Fa Izaho no Jehovah; hiteny Aho, ary ny teny lazaiko dia ho tò tokoa; tsy hajanona ela intsony izany; fa ho amin' ny andronareo, ry taranaka maditra, no hilazako ny teny sy hanatanterahako azy, hoy Jehovah Tompo."
26. Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
26. La parole de l`Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:
26. Ary tonga tamiko indray ny tenin' i Jehovah nanao hoe:
27. Son of man, behold, they of the house of Israel say, The vision that he seeth is for many days to come, and he prophesieth of the times that are far off.
27. "Fils de l`homme, voici, la maison d`Israël dit: Les visions qu`il a ne sont pas près de s`accomplir; Il prophétise pour des temps éloignés."
27. Ry zanak' olona, indro, ny taranak' Isiraely manao hoe: Mbola ho ela izany fahitana hitany izany, ary ny amin' ny fotoana mbola lavitra no vinanìny.
28. Therefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; There shall none of my words be prolonged any more, but the word which I have spoken shall be done, saith the Lord GOD.
28. "C`est pourquoi dis-leur: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l`Éternel: Il n`y aura plus de délai dans l`accomplissement de mes paroles; La parole que je prononcerai s`accomplira, Dit le Seigneur, l`Éternel."
28. "Koa lazao aminy hoe: Izao no lazain' i Jehovah Andriamanitra: Tsy hisy hahajanona ela intsony ny teniko; fa ny teny izay nolazaiko dia hotanterahiko, hoy Jehovah Andriamanitra."
